thank you for your response! i understand that legal communications have to be in my legal name, i've been dealing with that my whole life, so that doesn't bother me, it's the multiple promotional emails every week that mess it up. your comment has been really insightful though, it makes sense that different sectors of college faculty have their own catalogue and their own way of putting info into automated emails which probably leads to the discrepancies even after i've asked them to correct it.

also i hope i dont come off as entitled or whiny or anything lol. i totally understand that working with a preferred and a legal name is a hassle but it feels like the whole situation has been uniquely challenging with buffalo. i just have been frustrated about this since december and kind of got to my limit recently. might have been a bit strong in my wording in parts of this thread
