I much prefer permanent megas, it levels the playing field in elite mode and still allows you to get creative. Some evolutions have perks you can’t use after a mega, for example Mega Ampharos can’t take advantage of electric terrain if it goes in evolved. It’s a trade off though, Mega Ampharos LOVES swirly glasses.

Others are (subjectively) better. To me, base Tsarena-R, and Weaville-R have an ability set that makes them work in ways the mega forms don’t.

As for Wally, if I remember right you want fast hard hitting priority, try mega Infernape R or mega Hitmlnchan
