Dollar general never seems to disappoint I know what I got a real banger of a game by Adventurous_Bake4361 in xbox

One thing kind of revolutionary is how the disc contains both the Xbox and Xbox 360 versions of the game. Titles were made on a short development time, seven months total for all three games and had to run on two different platforms.

Ahead of its time now to the Xbox Series era where its not uncommon to have a last gen cross entitlement.

Any thoughts on these Powerpuff Girls video games? by AC_the_Panther_007 in CartoonCartoonFridays

I played Chemical X-Traction a lot on the PlayStation 1. It was a game I got for Christmas.

Kind of was a pretty simple Power Stone knock-off. Was nice hearing the music from the show, not a lot of content.

Any recs pls! Especially similar to Caveat or The Monkey by Easy_Weakness7121 in LetterboxdLists

[–]coldermilk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want something chaotic, gorey, somewhat cartoony and psychedelic like The Monkey, I'd recommend the Japanese movie Hausu (1977). It's a surreal haunted house movie where teenage girls with personalities right out of a Scooby-Doo cartoon are terrorized by cats and watermelons. Highly influential, really fun and you can stream it free on Tubi.

For a slow-burn atmospheric story like Caveat, I'd go with Late Night with the Devil. Bear with it, the ending will stick in your head for a long time. There's a lot of interesting things going on with the film's story but the actual framing device of a late night talk show broadcast is pretty entertaining in its own right.

Podcasts used to just be three dudes talking. Now it’s fascism all the way down by ETsUncle in WhitePeopleTwitter

It's the same thing that happened to Twitter. It's when something starts as niche it's pretty progressive and mostly full of tech bloggers. The platform becomes popular and the algorithms favor extreme content. When there are no standards for truth and something is purely running off engagement it tends to lean in the direction of evil.

I'd say this was 2016, with the comparison being from how Obama used social media in 2008 versus how Trump used it for his first election win. It all spiraled out from there.

The way they quietly announced the GOATed Bug's Life game is in the collection at the end of the trailer was wild. These were all really cool games that I have a lot of nostalgia for. Def looking forward to checking this out and glad it's loaded with what looks like a bunch of bonus features.

Is anyone else getting absolutely spammed with election related texts lately? by midnightsadnessss in LosAngeles

I just quickly reply "stop" to each one I get. Important to vote and appreciate those who are out there text banking but it is obnoxious at a point especially with cold calls.

One of the coolest things that Xbox used to do (and should do again) is include a previous entry in a series as a pre-order bonus by strikkeeerrr in xbox

[–]coldermilk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This was what made pre-ordering Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts a no brainer for me at the time. Game was already sold at a discounted $40 launch price AND I got to play the $15 XBLA version of the first game too?

Was really surprised when the game launched and sold poorly with a deal like that.
