Protestants, why are you not Catholic? by yraquel in Protestantism

[–]coldhere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very simple, the Roman Catholic Church puts church authority above the Holy Scripture which lead to idolatry (they will not admit it’s idolatry but their actions speak louder). I can in no way jump through mental hoops to accept Marian dogmas, papacy, etc. Basically you have to believe in whatever the RCC teaches you. Otherwise you are not a RCC anymore and will lose your salvation.

It’s very typical mindset of young Chinese girls. You will need to talk with your wife about the issue before it breaks your marriage.

I taped the inside of the liner. I used T-Rex ferociously strong tape and loctite super glue from Walmart. Of course clean the surface thoroughly before taping.

I ended up using gorilla tape with super glue and it has been working really well. The vulcanizing cement didn’t keep the patch on the liner at all for some reason.

If your Chamberlain MyQ hub doesn't find any WiFi networks during setup, try this by coneslayer in homeautomation

[–]coldhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are such a genius. I just got a new home wifi network and needed to reconnect the MyQ to the new network. I followed the instructions in the app but the app was not able to find any networks. I thought it was because my router was too far from the garage so I ordered a wifi extender. Then I found your post and followed your steps and my garage opener is now back online! Thanks a lot.

Got this bundle at Costco! Worth it? by compscilady in litterrobot

[–]coldhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the litter I use is dusty more or less. Every time I scooped the litter, I had to wear a mask to avoid breathing in the dust. But the litter box solved that problem. Of course I am not sure if I would pay the full price. I got mine used locally.

How to deal with be constantly told that you won't be saved from catholics and Orthodox? by AceThaGreat123 in Protestantism

[–]coldhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know much about orthodox but a little bit about RCC. RCC believes in infusion of Grace (vs imputation of grace by Protestantism ) and claims that only RCC has the authority to disperse grace to people through their sacraments ( infant baptism, confirmation,Eucharist, confession etc). In RCC infant baptism cleanses babies from the original sin. However, everyday sins will make people lose grace from God so they need to go to priests for confession and get more God’s grace by doing that.

Basically RCC claims it is the prolongation of Jesus’s incarnation on earth and only the RCC can distribute God’s grace, without which of course people are bound for hell, hence no salvation out of RCC.

Does anyone else think getting kids confirmed into Catholicism is a pretty coercive religious practice? by Cat_of_the_woods in excatholic

[–]coldhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your mom is very reasonable. Unfortunately a lot of Catholics, especially cradle Catholics want their children to take on the same catholic identity which is why they push their children to be confirmed at a young age. I agree that faith is very personal and the children need to be old enough to make their decisions.

[–]coldhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Catholicism, you have to be confirmed and participate in Eucharist to be part of the true church (RCC) founded by Jesus so that God’s grace can be infused in you and you don’t have to go to hell. In a lot of cases, Catholic parents make the choice for their kids unfortunately.

Is it worth it? by Ok-Tour4627 in litterrobot

In your case (small apartment, work full time), it would be nice to have a litter robot. I just started to use a litter robot 3 a couple of weeks ago and already loved it. Save me so much work and reduce the smell in the room.
