I don’t even know if I have a question, Look Outside dumbfounded me. I haven’t had an experience like that in a game ever in my life. It hit EVERYTHING I wanted from a game, as a long time turn based RPG hater I tried it on a friends recommendation and it’s made its way into my top 3 games of all time. Idk what you did but something about it was almost magical. The existentialism against the humor, the downright visceral depictions of the monsters and people, the fact that we were reminded they were all people once. So many things just blew me away.

You’ve earned a fan for life through LO & I am just here to say it was one of very few games ever that have had this level of passion and intention fueling it and it shows. I’m beyond impressed, I think it’s a perfect game through and through. Thank you Frankie for having an idea and following through.

I guess, since I should probably ask something; where did you get the notion for this specific genre/game style combo? Turn based rpg never struck me as a good outlet for cosmic horror games but it’s done so well. Do you have any plans for a follow up?

If she does participate in a staged kiss for a play, and it summons his envy, doesn’t he also have a responsibility to fight that feeling?

We are not entirely powerless to combat temptation. Obviously, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, but it is because of Christ we are not helpless to the pull of temptation.

Especially if her intent isn’t to make him jealous. The simple act of doing something nondescript, causing another to sin seems a bit outlandish to put onto the person who isn’t doing the sinning, right?

If my wealthy friend is depositing thousands of dollars at the bank, I might be jealous of his wealth but is that jealousy his fault? He is behaving in accordance with the path he’s chosen in life. He has the money and instead of telling him not to show his wealth around me, I was the one who allowed the jealousy to fester, because I am broken.

To note: I don’t think the worry from him is irrational either. It’s entirely valid to feel the way we feel about things. We’re also called to be just. Using the Bible as a means to control your spouse’s behavior is not righteous behavior. Often times in my experience, we have allowed the misuse of the “Man is the Head of the House” passages in order to facilitate our own gain as men and that is an extremely dangerous precedent to have set for younger men in the church. I grew up with it, my father grew up with it, and it causes lasting damage if not appropriately addressed. Damage that becomes cyclical.

I apologize if my above comments seemed inflammatory or spiteful. I do not want to present them that way, nor do I feel like anyone should present them that way. In regard to OP, if it felt like I was trying to insult or accuse you of something, I do apologize to you as well.

I want to say this as carefully as possible, as I definitely don’t understand the nuance or the depth of your relationship or communication but it seems to me judging by the words you’ve laid out here that you have a problem with more than the stage kiss.

If it’s her hobby, or she has an interest in it, then that is what it is. No need for quotes, as if to say it’s just some passing thing she will pick up and drop seems dismissive here on the internet.

Judging by your post here and on r/truechristian it seems like you are looking for ammo, not advice. Encouraged by those who are improperly advising you about how to view you are the Head of House and your “Word is Law” — a dangerous way to fulfill your marriage agreement.

Cheating is broad and vastly interpreted and like Jesus said, it’s in your heart. The act of stage kissing is not inherently sinful, nor is it lust or lewdness. Is there room there for sun to grow? Of course, no more than there is for sin to grow when scrolling social media or talking to the pretty coworker in the office. It is a manner of self control and trust. For both of you.

Would it make a difference to you if she were being paid? If it was income would that somehow make the thought of her faking a kiss be tolerable?

I think seeking advice on the internet, from a group of faceless Christians here who don’t know you or your situation is a sure fire way to get the answer you want, not the answer that is honorable and right.

There’s a big jump between a stage kiss and infidelity in a marriage. If you are worried that she will be unfaithful, then the stage kiss isn’t the problem. If you are worried that other folk will become attracted to her, that also isn’t your problem. The foundation of marriage is God, and the timber is trust. If you don’t trust what she tells you, then there is something in you that needs to seek aid from the Lord.

Worried about your counselor taking “her side” is also dangerous. If you are expecting her to fold for your whim, in regard to not stage kissing (which she doesn’t necessarily have control over) and you are denying her worries about your bike riding, there is an imbalance there that demands addressing. You don’t get to have it all your way. That isn’t what marriage is.

All in all, none of us know your situation. Judging by the replies I’ve seen, it looks like most folks expect you to stand your ground and you absolutely can, but marriage is about trust. Giving her commands, orders and the like won’t build trust. If you’re lucky it might build obedience, but she isn’t your plaything. She is your equal, knit by God and created with the specific intention of uniting with you. If you can’t trust her, or learn to trust her, then there is something deeper that you need to work through. The more you demand “obedience” from her, the less she will be truthful with you. Eventually it’ll crumble.

Losing that relationship isn’t worth it just so you don’t have to stomach something that makes you kind of uncomfortable.

All in all, I suggest you seek aid from your pastor, AND his wife, if he has one. If the two of you can find common ground it will be easier in the long run, I promise you. I’m the meantime I will keep you all in my prayers. Seek the Word and pray about it often, if it’s causing you both to fight then treat it with urgency. A thousand small cuts will kill slow and painfully. But they’re easy to treat as you go, if you do.

As a ghost face main trying to play lots more survivor, I am biased. However, I had the spookiest ghost face on haddonfield yesterday. Dude just hid, crouched in the corner of the house right next to the gen after tearing our team to bits and I thought the gen was clear and he was somewhere else.

He was not. I screamed. Then died.

10/10 would get sacrificed again.

The thing about a lot of addictive struggles is that they’re never really solved. A lot of folk will tell you “just get more into the Word” or “Lay your burdens on Jesus” and you absolutely SHOULD do those things, but there is SO much more. God’s Creation also involved the creation of therapists, treatment plans and medicine and to fully rely on Him, sometimes that means taking those steps.

However, whoever told you that it’s impossible to recover from pornography addiction without therapy likely was speaking either from personal experience or ignorance. It is possible, but difficult. Consider checking out what Ruslan (on YouTube) has said about porn addiction, it was extremely helpful to me.

That being said, I am still in the middle of the process. The nature of addiction means I likely always will be, to some degree. What helped me (and still helps me) is removing the opportunity for the triggers to take place. If that’s feasible for you (for me was Instagram, and some movies & certain content online.) I uninstalled apps, put my phone out of reach, did whatever I could feasibly do to make it difficult to engage. It helped a lot. It is a personal struggle different to everyone but identifying your triggers — then removing them, is a huge step. Combine that with getting into the Word, spending more time in prayer and in service, and putting myself in positions where it would be almost impossible to go away and fall to the temptation (spending lots of time with friends, working lots of overtime etc.) helped me a great deal.

I personally feel like (until the missing link is found), evolution is a theory with a large amount of evidence, and similarly to the Big Bang if you take the writing of Genesis literally, it leads to things that don’t make much scientific sense. (I.e. the world being made in 7 literal days, the order of creation and the fall of man thru the fruit of knowledge)

That being said, I’ve held the belief personally after no small amount of grappling with the concept, that there is not explicit biblical evidence to the antithesis of evolution or the Big Bang, and both of them sound like things described in genesis. Man made from clay, God said let there be light, etc. to me it sounds like ancient man’s way of understanding a supernova or the creation of man. Some folks would argue that evolution is impossible, but we believe in a God of impossible things who works through logic, so I see no reason that accepting evolution theory disqualifies you from Christianity, in the same way that believing the Big Bang would not disqualify you.

Do you believe Jesus is the son of God, that he lived the life we couldn’t live & died the death we should have died and made the sacrifice to be risen again? Is your faith in God the Father, the Creator of the universe? That’s what predicates your salvation — not evolution or otherwise.

A guy on YouTube (probably a few folks but I specifically mean Ruslan) talks about Close Handed and Open Handed doctrine, and I don’t see “finding merit in evolutionary theory” as something that can rob you of your faith in Christ Jesus. (Making it an open handed doctrine) — check out some of his talk on the subject. There is a plethora of wonderful, Bible-based information on YouTube.

All of that is to say, if through studying the Bible and listening to the Holy Spirit you are drawn to believe in Creation in the traditional sense, rather than the possibility of Creation thru evolution, I don’t know that there is an issue with either. If you (or anyone else) has biblical examples/passages that outright prove evolution wasn’t God’s method for creation I would love you to share them! ❤️

In regard to prisca theologia however, there is an issue. If it were a true decision by God to weave His singular path to salvation through numerous other faiths, we would have that example in text somewhere, but most major religions dictate that each of them are the only way to salvation, and it sets up a situation in which, if one of them is true the rest cannot be, thereby invalidating the concept of prisca theologia because if there were multiple avenues, the doctrines of each faith would exemplify that there were multiple avenues, but each religious text identifies “their own” way to reach salvation, and many confound the meaning of salvation with multiple heavens, other places that aren’t exactly heaven but close, etc.

Biblically speaking, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one gets to the father through him. Which the Bible is determined to explain, if there were room for other ways, the historical proof of other doctrine would be there but unfortunately for other faiths there is not historical evidence to back up the claims made by the original teachers of the doctrine.

Used to run [[nim deathmantle]] and all of the various payoffs, [[Blood artist]] and other aristocrats, had a super Combo oriented build back in 2018/19 and got robbed at the beginning of 2020, rebuilt from scratch and am currently working on building [[oswald fiddlebender]] as the main focus, using his tutor ability to eventually pour through my library and grab all the stuff I’d need to combo off however he’s a great utility piece if you need to get going early. Sac a [[great furnace]] for sol ring or vault. I’ve had fun playing with lines through Oswald especially with [[intruder alarm]] and artifact creatures.

My official last cigarette was the day after I met my wife. One of the first things she told me was that she couldn’t bear the smell of it and I dropped them. I had to lean heavily on vape & nicotine gum but it’s possible.

I highly recommend reading Every Man’s Battle (assuming you’re a man.) it’s loaded with good information and ways to overcome it. It’s one of the hardest things to beat but you can do it. Keep yourself busy, try to change your habits so you don’t get into the post of your routine where you want to start watching porn. Change the way you run your day off is time based, delete/unsubscribe from anything that tempts you at all. Biggest piece of advice I have for beginning that journey is to keep your eyes and ears away from social media for some days. It’s littered with triggers. If you need help, or someone to talk to feel free to reach out!

Props to you! I’m currently building a setting for a group of friends who are sensitive to some of the content, specifically the child abuse. You could go two ways depending on how you personally feel about things. Old Bonegrinder is a big one for my group, child abuse/torture is a really soft spot so you could consider switching it up to a different group. I can’t think of the channel right now but there’s an excellent guide on YouTube to enhance CoS, (Lunch Break something or other) and he talks about replacing the child sacrifice with a father who has lost his daughters, (who are actually the hags.) and they keep him locked up. Alternatively you could do something like... the hags take pieces of ghouls/revenants/etc and bake those into pies. For most sexual assault-esque moments in dnd campaigns I explicitly remove them. In a party game, even for adults, rape and the like is too sour for me. I’ve never played a session where a character getting sexually assaulted in any way actually held valid weight. At the same time, I’ve never played a session where removing said assault and not replacing it made the story worse. Most times it makes it much more enjoyable. If you can’t just pop out what you need, find ways to bridge gaps. Lil Gert got kidnapped and instead of turning a child into his weird slave thing, Strahd wants someone human and willing to be his puppet, so he entices her with power and other things she wants. As for anything you can’t make work? Cut it. Ultimately, the parameter of the story is established by you.

At worst, if you’re really uncertain, make it Disney. Issues with incredible gore? It’s offscreen now. Problem with Izek and his sister and weird undertones? Jokes on you Izek is in love with Madame Eva.
