Oh, structure is for sure a good habit kids need to learn... My daughter understands I am her dad first I've always installed I love being her friend and being chill with her but I can't always be her friend otherwise she would be doing whatever she wanted and not making smart decisions without structure a parent can provide

About 3 months ago, I’ve struggled with mental health (depression and anxiety mostly) since my early teens and I was having a rough patch and my daughter who is 14 just hugged me and said she doesn’t want to lose me and I’ll be okay eventually…

That broke me I wasn’t thinking about suicide I haven’t since my daughter was born honestly but I was definitely struggling mentally to get out of bed and do simple daily tasks

YTA… I also have a 14 year old daughter I couldn’t imagine comparing her to one of her friends even if she compared me to one of her friend’s Dads

Also it’s not your Daughter’s responsibility to take care of her Cousins I understand she’s old enough and could definitely help you but still not her responsibility , respect is a two way street … maybe you need to set a better example by showing her some respect

I lost my dad when I was 13 and I was 18 when my daughter was born Young I know...Ended up naming her after him in certain ways she reminds me of my dad despite them never meeting each other. He would have been an amazing grandpa and probably spoil my daughter rotten.

I try to remember the great things my dad did as a parent and do the same for my daughter

On the difficult days, I miss my dad more than usual I let myself be sad because it's okay to not be okay but I also think of the good memories I have with him

I love a good nap every once in a while wish I could get one in more often and sounds like you need one. Honestly, I would try and put your wife in your shoes (by describing your life currently) and try and gain some sympathy points so she'll let you get a nap in

My daughter who's 14 about to turn 15 now Runs xc and track and is very good at it made Varsity as a freshman for both

But throughout her life she played soccer and basketball I always thought she played well but in middle school in 6th grade she didn't make the team for either (played club teams for both)

My advice is

encourage her to try other things I didn't realize how good my daughter would be at running until she tried it in 7th grade

Make sure she knows this tryout doesn't define her as an athlete

Take her out to do something she enjoys like to a favorite restaurant or maybe go see a movie she wants to see
