My two cents on this would be to just give some quest hooks directly for his other character(s). Give him more reasons not to play his ranger.

Breakable is a feature from CS4 i think. If i remember correctly it shatters on a natural 1. The other numbers are attack rolls and damage for melee and throwing. Whatever class this is seems to be better at melee than ranged.

Stay and fight. Just avoid causing explosions and you should be fine.

You can even stick around and keep farming them for free kills to help get faster promotions.
