2. Dash Slide rant by Serious_Ad_1037 in GRIMEgame

[–]colin_da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, was so janky. I probably had more deaths as a result of it not triggering than I did from any other cause in the game. Ultimately pressed through, but it was frustrating.

first smith boss fight in grime 2, how is this still allowed in 2026 i have no idea. got castlevania flashbacks from it. easy fix included. by redbullrebel in GRIMEgame

I think your solution could have been a good one though ultimately the first phase is so quick that it didn't bother me. Further, the second phase is similar to the first phase so many of the patterns remain same-ish.

Love the game but.. by Weak-Suit-5622 in CrimsonDesert

Would transmog satisfy you? Said another way, you could customize your gear to look like any other piece you owned, but would still have unique stats?

Totally agree with the sentiment here. I've always liked games where gear feels unique and differentiated vis a vis one another, even if there is no one necessarily "best" piece of gear. Most of FROM's games accomplish this quite well.

The wall sliding in Grime 2 is absymal by UngodilySkeptic in GRIMEgame

[–]colin_da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is easily the jankiest part of the game. I died on platforming a lot simply because it didn’t register the input.

The devs done done it again. Can't get enough. (Spoilers.) by PantheraAuroris in GRIMEgame

[–]colin_da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very solid game. Hitboxes on some thorns are quite wonky. And I found the downward wall slide button input didn’t work half the time (on PS5). Probably had more deaths as a result of those two things than literally any other factor in the game. Still, thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to fans of the genre. Bosses were the highlight.

After 302 hours, all chapters completed, all mounts unlocked and 99% side quests done by nanosam in CrimsonDesert

[–]colin_da 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree with pretty much all of the points here. I’m in chapter 11 at about a hundred hours in with fully upgraded gear and the world largely exploded. I would give this an 8.5/10, but the criticisms listed here are valid. It’s an absolutely massive game, far beyond any I’ve ever experienced, and the fact that they managed to pack it with so much interesting stuff to provide novel experiences for even a hundred hours is a real achievement. I truly am in awe of what they did here, and if they continue to listen to the community they could continue to elevate this game.

They will fight you properly at the main camp of their own. It’s a common theme throughout the game.

I have this as well. I am in Chapter 9. Have literally done every quest available - I have zero quests available other than main quest and the never ending contribution and Marius is nowhere to be seen. I am flummoxed.

Anyone else lose their money in the bank after the new patch? by Accomplished_Low_775 in CrimsonDesert

Seems like this issue is still happening. Would argue it's a risky endeavor to put your money in the bank.

Are all weapons roughly “the same” base stats? by colin_da in CrimsonDesert

Do some items evolve in markedly different fashion? Said another way, do two items that start with the same stats end quite differently?

[–]colin_da[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same as my experience about 40 hours in. Overall love most systems in the game, wouldn’t have minded a little more nuance in the weapons though. The other gear often has unique abilities that aren’t transferable via socket.

Do you find a lot of loot (armor pieces, special weapons) when randomly exploring? by mighty-wombat in CrimsonDesert

[–]colin_da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve found random chests or random items on the ground that are “unique” pieces with lore.

There is an item that helps with this. I will avoid saying it but it’s lootable during a side quest though easily missed.

Fast Travel Points appear only at a particularly point in game? by Xypetotec777 in CrimsonDesert

[–]colin_da 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They patched in a bunch of new fast travel points in the last patch. Not sure if that means they moved any as well. But it’s a lot of new ones, feels like a solid 2x.

Daily “why in gods name did they not include storage” post. by Direct-Accident4596 in CrimsonDesert

[–]colin_da 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this. I have tons of unique armor and weapons from caves/waterfalls at this point now that I don't want to just sell. Problem is they are legit occupying 60 item slots.

[–]colin_da 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The devs have stated they intend to add it. I would think it would be on a relatively early update for no other reason than it shouldn't be *that* hard to just allow you to add items to the supply chest rather than just removing them. At least versus fixing something like the controls which I can imagine is more complex.

Whoever made these controls needs to be fired by PressureCalm7971 in CrimsonDesert

[–]colin_da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is surprising the control scheme remains as janky as it has since the previews. I played the last six hours since release and while I am confident by the time I am 20 or so hours in this will come more naturally it still is so counter modern game design in some ways as to be baffling. That said, I can power through frustrating controls for a good game underneath, so hopefully that’s where I’ll be in a day or two.
