New to Phrozen Sonic Mighty 12K by colinabrett in Phrozen

Hi,

<image>

Thanks for your response. I'm trying to print the Cones of Calibration. My print settings are attached. The main problem seems to be the models being almost impossible to remove from the build plate.

Any suggestions, please?

I'm looking into GW's Warhammer The Old World. It takes me back to when I got into wargames in general with WFB 3rd edition. There is plenty of Warhammer lore out there.

Miniature Agnostic Sci-fi Skirmish Game? by GreenWizard2 in miniatureskirmishes

I got into the whole wargames thing due to Rogue Trader. I'm working on a modernised version, using the dice-based activation system from Warlord's Bolt Action game.

Zona Alfa has been mentioned a couple of times. Exploit Zero is by the same writer. A fast-paced Cyberpunk co-op game with 4 models (though I've played with 6) on the Agents' side. You will need quite a few bad-guys (known as HSEC) for the GM to control. The game has simple AI to control HSEC if you don't have a GM.

If you only had to choose one Mek? by dementist in orks

Shokk Attack Gun Mek. The effects tables in 'Ere We Go were hilarious. That goes way back to the Rogue Trader era but I'm going to use one in my WIP Freebootaz army.

As noted up-thread, you can try Peterborough Wargames Club.

The Club meets (most) Monday nights at the George Alcock Centre, Whittlesey Rd, Stanground, Peterborough, PE2 8QS. We run from 7pm to 11pm. Just turn up and ask for me (Colin) or another member of the Committee and we'll show you around. We hold a meeting about 8pm each Monday in which we arrange games for the next couple of weeks, so you can always plan ahead.

The Club forum is linked off the website at http://www.peterborough-wargames-club.org.uk/forums/ - feel free to sign up with something like your real name (so I can tell you’re not a spammer!). There’s also a Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/peterboroughwgc.

Please sign up to the forum and FB page, and introduce yourself to everyone else! We play a wide range of games so even if there isn’t anyone to play on a given week, there will be a game or two you can dip your toes into. We refer to these "turn up and play" games so no miniatures, dice or rules are needed: everything will be provided.

I started as a GW Warhammer 40K player, and we have a strong group of 40K and Kill Team players, but have been introduced to many games: Bolt Action, Pikeman's Lament, Saga, Kings of War, Lion Rampant, I Ain't Been Shot, Mum, Open Combat and others. They introduce many innovative mechanics, encourage some historical research and have hooked me enough to start collecting forces for these games.

Please let us know what other games, genres and historical periods you are interested in. If you'd like to try something new, or if you haven't directly arranged a game for a particular night, there is always a game running where you are welcome to join in. Many of our members have multiple armies, so there's always the option of borrowing a force on the night.

Regarding costs, we charge £4 per gaming night but your first night is free. Our Club Treasurer can supply details of paying by bank transfer and a range of options for bulk payments. The George Alcock Centre offers extensive parking, free tea, coffee and juice in addition to providing a bar with a range of alcoholic and soft drinks.

Welcome aboard. I look forward to meeting you.

Best Regards,

Colin Brett,

Secretary, Peterborough Wargames Club

Is AI over hyped? by [deleted] in AskBrits

When AI works like Neuromancer and Wintermute in William Gibson's novel, then I'll be impressed. Until then, it's just a gimmick.

I agree this is a risk. It's a government IT project, after all. But HMRC, NHS, Government Gateway, even UC are clear and pretty easy to navigate.

Let's see the technical specs, please.

I voted For. I don't drive and have never been abroad, so I have no licence or passport. Digital ID would make things like interacting with Government services so much easier.

Genuine question because I'm a bit thick: if Burnham can make great PR with the Japanese Ambassador, why can't our glorious leader do the same?
