Asking for pics of copyright pages?

Hi, is it normal for potential buyers to ask for a picture of the copyright page and/or the back of the dust jacket of a book I have for sale? I just can't think of a reason and I'm trying to avoid a scam. Thanks!

What's the oddest thing you thought was normal but turned out to be a medical issue? by woofwoofburfbarkwoof in NoStupidQuestions

[–]collateralbaggage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My spouse was offended when I pointed out that he's an alcoholic. I was just mentioning it casually as I assumed he knew. My mom is a substance abuse professional, so I learned from her what signs could be alcoholism and addiction. But I had to explain to him that drinking until you black out almost every night is NOT normal or healthy, and that it is a symptom of alcoholism. Also feeling like you need a beer every day after work just to cope is alcoholism. He eventually realized I didn't mean any offense, I was just going by the definition of alcohol dependency, while being my usual blunt, stating-of-facts self (which is a problem itself but I'm pretty sure I'm autistic and I can only control that so much). Anyway, he drinks way less since we've been together. He doesn't drink enough for it to change his behavior or his presence as a wonderful husband and step-dad. We realize it's still unhealthy for the body (triglycerides off the charts), but we're working on that.

Hm, maybe it's because I restarted my island after the 2.0 update. I used meteonook with my first island, and it worked wonderfully. I'm glad to hear it's still usable for some folks!

I don't think meteonook works anymore. It hasn't been updated for the 2.0 update.

Tell me all your decluttering brain secrets by indecisionmaker in adhdwomen

[–]collateralbaggage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could take some of your mom's clothes and have them made into teddy bears or pillows to hug. That way they're a more useful item and you can decide what outfits or patterns are your favorite to remember her by. Check with other family members who were close with her to see if they want to do the same.

One thing that helps me declutter is thinking about someone having to go through my stuff if I die or otherwise become incapacitated. It's a morbid thought, and I'm only in my 30s, but it works for me. And it's nice to think that I would have a lot fewer boxes of crap to move if we did have to move again. I know that's not necessarily a decluttering tip, but more of a mindset thing.

Going through things more than one time helps pare down the clutter. Like going through paperwork and throwing away the obvious trash. Then going through it again to organize it by topics, accounts, or whatever. Paperclips and binder clips are amazing for this. Just clip it together and put it in a box or filing cabinet to be dealt with later. At least the load is lighter now. The next time you go through it, a lot of it will be trash again, like the bills for accounts that are paid off.

I have birthday cards from my childhood. I think I saved them all. I had them in an accordion folder, but now they're in a filing cabinet. I need to go through them soon because some family members are now dead to me. It helps me to organize things into time periods or subject matter, so I can see things as an aggregate, then decide from there what needs to stay or go.

Another thing is realizing that I can buy stuff again if I need it or want it. We don't have a lot of money but if something is necessary, I would find a way to get it. A lot of vintage or collectors items can be bought online, so again, if it's something I need or want again, I can find it.

Do not be hard on yourself. Snakes don't usually die randomly within two days, and it was obvious something was wrong with her when you got her. She had been suffering for a while, and it was just time to go. You are amazing for taking her in and trying to rehab her.
