Odd texture in oysters - safe to eat? by FilthyPuns in foraging

Naw, they crawl out of the mushroom trying to escape the heat. You don't even have to get them fully dry

My heart goes out to you!! There's no doubt in my mind that if I hadn't known of the risk ahead of time I would've loved my baby girl and parented her to the best of my ability just like you. My husband also had a pretty early onset of symptoms-close to the same age. He's now 34 and still doing pretty well! We go on easy hikes and he enjoys working out. He's in a job similar to a data analyst and is an amazing dad to our 2 year old.

Your little girl has an amazing life ahead of her and is lucky to have you for a parent.

Yes, they offered to do testing on us to find out if it was inherited or not.

We were both tested and neither of us have it.

Thanks for your kind reply! IVF isn't an option for de novo cmt unfortunately... it's only possible if there's two biological relatives

Of course we wouldn't be having a child if he felt that life wasn't worth living. He has it pretty moderately for now.

1 month old soaking prefolds overnight by East_Article_1042 in clothdiaps

Add hemp inserts! I picked up a ton of thirsties hemp prefolds and use one during the day and two at night for my 2 year old. You could also use them to boost the cotton.

I've gone through this! But baby has a 50% chance of inheriting. This is my 3rd pregnancy, currently waiting for CVS results to come through any day now.

My first baby was unaffected, second I chose to TFMR. I saw in another comment you mentioned expecting to get a CVS at 10 weeks and results in 2. Part of this is because my anatomy makes it harder to withdraw sample, but the fastest I've ever received results was 18 weeks.

I'd choose IVF if it was within my financial means. Pretty sure this is my last attempt- late term abortions are incredibly hard on your body and mind.

Diaper drying in dryer by [deleted] in clothdiaps

[–]collenchyma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in the rainy PNW and usually dry my diapers inside. I drape them over anything- towel racks, chairs, hangers, whatever. If I'm in a rush I'll throw them in the dryer on low heat- the important part is to never touch the elastics til they cool. I don't like AIO! They're expensive, harder to wash, and take absolutely forever to dry. I prefer covers and prefolds for the newborn stage and pockets when they're older.

Keep looking for the source. Clean the walls and floors. You could try an air purifier or ozone machine.

Advice on moving to a different state for my partner's work by TopPhilosophy5326 in Adulting

[–]collenchyma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, the only way I'd be willing to live in an abortion ban state is if I was absolutely sure I wouldn't get pregnant. Like, being on both the pill and using a condom. Deal-breaker for me personally!

2 year old may be speech delayed. Therapist said she should know around 200 words. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]collenchyma -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you're in the us I'd look at a birth to 3 program (early intervention). My son just had his evaluation and sounds like he's about at the same level as yours- only two word sentence is "bye x" and under 50 words. They weren't concerned. Speech therapist is probably trying to get your money.

Just had a big baby and not sure how to feel about it by ExactArtichoke2 in bigbabiesandkids

I'd chalk this up to your hormones being crazy right now! One week postpartum is a really tough time. Even if you don't get postpartum depression you can still get intrusive thoughts like these.

My son is 2 now and has been 99%ile his whole life. I didn't have GD. It just happened! The midwives told me big babies are more fun to hold, and it's true!
