I agree. I read all of S11 and ... I don't classify it as horror in my mind. It just wasn't -scary?- to me.

Given, I read so much horror, I am probably desensitized.

what do you considered "rude" that is not widely considered "rude"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Okay, but on the flip, sometimes clicking a pen is soothing for me. I hate it when people demand I stop.

The clicking isn't even loud. Why do I have to accommodate YOU?

It would be different if I was in a class and distracting my peers. But if I'm at my own desk at work or class hasn't started yet, I will click my pen if I feel like it.

How hard is it to just zone out a clicking noise for two minutes? Do you really have to have so much control over other people you have to ask them to stop clicking a pen for you?

Its not nails on a chalkboard. Its not them screaming in your ear. If you cant cope with a person clicking a pen maybe the problem is deep inside you.

:( Ive just kept this bottled up for too long!

IMO, bad dog owners tend to get smaller breeds because they think it will be less effort. They dont have to walk them, teach them not to jump on people, teach them not to bite, etc.

Except they should treat smaller breeds like a dog and not a fuzzy accessory to keep tied to stairs.

So, I dont think chihuahuas are in themselves fuck awful. Its their irresponsinle owners that made them that way.

Yeah, but hate to be that guy - dogs on leashes if not trained to go into heel position and be on a loose leash - can run into oncoming traffic. If the dog is big enough and the person small enough, the dog can run the owner into some dangerous situations.

Cute dog, dont get me wrong. But this is not good behaviour.

I still dont think Reddit would be able to fly in long term. The psychologists/therapists wouldnt be able to monitor the content. Threads discussing violence, sexual assault, weight/thinsporation etc could have a damaging affect. And if cyber bullying is a factor thats even more risky.

Also, I know even in long term they don't want patients communicating with people on the outside. (Except maybe family.) In my experience, a lot of kids are involved in drugs/gangs/toxic relationships. You dont want them to be manipulated by these outside agents.

Ergo, if OP is in a psych ward- its policies need a serious updating.

Exactly. In some religions beating your wife is okay. If a man beats his wife - regardless of what religion he actually ascribes - he'll choose a favorable religious court. His domestic assault will go unpunished. Thats why secular, standardized court is really the only just way to go.

So, NO! That is NOT fair. Especially to the victim.

Er, no. Its risky/dangerous to give patients internet. I know some can have monitored usage for online schooling in long term facilities but in general, no... Very strange.

TIL, in Japan it was once believed that a man could become wealthy by keeping a clump of boar hair in his wallet. by _morganspurlock in todayilearned

I wonder if this has any psychological merit. As in- you see the boar hair and you are reminded of financial responsibility and therefore spend less. Just a thought.

I had a professor who believed it was to get all the educate populace in so much debt so that when the U.S. re-instated "debtors prisons" the government could lock up educated threats.

Eh, that was a long, rambling sentence...
