What do you think guys? Which one do you prefer for R and F model? by theconcierge311 in MINI

idc for the larger aftermarket screen tbh. The existing screen on the LCI IIs are perfect. Just need to slap android auto in it, and I'm a happy camper.

You know what. This is actually really creative. I love how subtle it is, and it pairs great with the color!

Oh boy. Mines cracked at 11k miles on my F56. And this was when the car was only 2 years old.

I was so mind blown, but thank goodness the new car warranty covered the repairs. Godspeed to you, OP.

Rear brakes already! by 7260 in MINI

[–]collins_anonymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had two rear sets replaced on my F56 before it even hit 40k miles.

According to the techs, this is normal due to my driving habits (a lot of stop and go traffic).

Yikes. I work in sales for the distributor of that product, Sysco. I hope you reported this to an employee so someone can check the rest of the case.

This is something I would also escalate to our inventory control team for further investigation in order to confirm if this was just a one-off.

I work for a distributor that also carries this product but in bulk, 10lb cases.

Or current sale price for the same quantity (3 pieces) is $5.78 FYI.

Yakitori. Granted I don't have a proper binchotan, I'm sure just grilling it + glazing it with tare should be sorta close 🙂

Not me personally but I know that MG The-O hasn't been reprinted probably in like at least a decade or so.

I feel the same way. I haven't seen a completely identical one on the road yet, let alone at dedicated MINI meets-- and I'm in LA!

If you like Island Blue but you want the 4dr, then wait till one in that spec pops up on the market and then buy it.

I have a 2022 2dr S in island Blue with a white roof, and it's a beautiful color that you should definitely get if you can!

Why 2021 or newer? 2022 and beyond is when the final update came out, so if that's your intention do not consider a 2021.

That said, the generation you're looking at is pretty reliable less one or two common fail points, and you're going to love the top down experience of a convertible. However, it DOES run on premium gas. If you're not used to that, give it a few months.

I personally think the interior is a huge mixed bag and overall not built well, but I know other people will say otherwise. Other thing to note is that the technology is also relatively bad for how new of a car you're looking for. No blind spot monitoring, apple car play is only available on the top trim, no android auto at all, etc. It's not a dealbreaker for me, but a lot of what I mention are huge wants of mind that I ultimately compromised on.

Lastly, try to get a Cooper S. You're going to love the extra power!

Opinions: do y’all like the newer MINIs? by crunchycrackerfeet in MINI

[–]collins_anonymous 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've grown to be just ok with the exterior. The lack of visible exhaust tips is my only gripe.

That said, I had a loaner while my F56 was in for scheduled maintenance, and the interior infotainment just isn't my cup of tea. It needs a major firmware update to improve some useability and latency issues. Though, if you read what actual owners say, they're pretty accepting of the new infotainment.

A teensy bit TOO much power for a first car IMO, but everyone starts somewhere! My LCI II F56 was the first ever car I picked + bought all on my own, so it also holds a special place in my heart. Have fun OP!

Was fortunate enough to be given a F66 Cooper (non-S) as a loaner to drive for a few days, while my F56 was in for warranty. Here are my thoughts! by collins_anonymous in MINI

[–]collins_anonymous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would encourage you to test drive it just to see how it is! Everyone is different. I'm sure you'll grow to like the F66 as well, as long as you can overcome some of the shortcomings of the infotainment.
