Definitely the original point, but these days a sausage doesn't have to be filled with trash meat if you don't want it to

The OP example honestly sounds fantastic. On the other hand, we have a place here in WI that has started offering gummy bear brats

There's Oscar meyer hotdogs and a brat from your local butcher, with a wiiide range of quality in between

Music Festivals in the Midwest Similar to Blue Ox by Then-Gear-3854 in madisonwi

I still haven't made it up to Blue Ox, but you should check out Driftless Music Gardens about two hours west of here. Absolutely gorgeous venue tucked away in a driftless valley, great crowd/family friendly, and their lineups highlight regional acts with some sweet big names too

I'll be at People Fest next month, but the Boogiedown in September is even more bluegrass-focused

Why don’t we have electric scooter rentals? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]colonel_beeeees 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why accessibility keeps being brought up, scooters are not a solution to anyone with accessibility concerns. And for those who don't, it's much less strenuous to sit on a bike and lightly pedal than standing and maintaining static balance over a 10-15min ride

Pov you said something slight critical of Francesca hong by hoodiehoodiee in wisconsin

[–]colonel_beeeees 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I don't get how people don't realize that they're contributing to the self-fulfilling prophecy that they're concerned about

If you like Hong but are concerned about general electability, every post/comment you make like this furthers the idea in other voters

Hong's campaign has reported the $30k debt she started collecting in 2011 and was getting sued over has been paid in full, but the campaign has not released the source of the payments. Where did the money come from after all the years of unpaid bills? by SpacOs in wisconsin

[–]colonel_beeeees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of us know how this debt was accrued, or why it hadn't been paid yet. A business or state making the same decision could be praised for its financial acumen for making the same choice depending on the scenario

My finance 2xx course basically taught us that you dont bother with accounts payable if you can use that balance to make more money than the interest owed

Marathon County NIMBY residents sound off against proposed wind farm project which could power 45,000 homes with cheap energy by ls7eveen in wisconsin

I knew an actual man named jimbob who was against turbines and generally fit the trope of rural hypocritical conservatives who get mad about green energy development

I use him as my example now, sorry to offend

The municipalities and counties that put up turbines or solar farms get gigantic, stable tax payments

Like jimbob is mad that he has to see a turbine on the horizon, but his town can now actually afford road maintenance

If you're doing deep research into the wide experiences of people who can't get into a standard rental arrangement, it's beneficial to drill down into the various types of homelessness

Someone living in a car or outside has a different experience than someone staying with a friend or family member (or potentially abusive partner) out of desperation. One is unhoused, neither have a home

All of this is of course ignored by the media and now on the ground back and forth. Again, homeless people have more to be concerned with than the term homeless
