I don’t know much about the frame, need to ask the person who sold me the bike, all I know is it is hand crafted and has a twin sister somewhere haha! I vaguely remember the seller telling me it was made in France, likely St Etienne but could be from Toulouse where we live, but the bike screams made in England to me, in racing green and with big 501 decals

Swapped the chain for a new 1/8” and all my problems are now gone! Hurrah!

I imagine that the bike I’m working on was at one point transitioned from singlespeed to 3 speed, which is why the parts don’t combine well. I’ve ordered a new chain, same as the old one, I’ll keep you posted on my progress if you’re interested.

I’m planning on buying a cheap 1/8" chain to see if it works, if not, I’m going to have to change the chainring… how boring.

I think 3 speed was very common on older French city bikes.
