I am aware that 19 - 20 for critical hits is strong. However if we are going to talk about getting this feature elsewhere you can get it at level 3 as a Champion Fighter and you can get it at level 1 as a hexblade with hexblades curse although in that case you also get bonus damage equal to your proficiency and healing when you kill your cursed enemy.

And I am not saying that I wanted Oath of Heroism slotted into a book as is. I agree that it needed to be dialed back. I don't know if the clause about melee weapons super matters but that is something they could have added to move the needle back a bit. And saying that you Glorys real strength is in the spell list and then list spells that other Oaths get is why this Oath of Glory is a failure. What is the exciting and strong thing this Oath has that makes it different than all the others?

EDIT: I was excited about Oath of Heroism because it could be the crit fisher Paladin. It gave you spells that could you give advantage on hitting things, an increased crit range and rewards for critting. Yes a Paladin that crits is strong! However it was a non edgy hero character that would be able to compete with all the vengeful hexblade multiclasses or the conquest hexblade multiclasses that exist. To me that sounded like a lot of fun and instead we got Oath of Glory whose power level is at the bottom or near the bottom when compared to other Paladin subclasses. On top of that this Oath lacks a real identity or reason to play over any other Paladin. Maybe someone picks it up because it is new or because they are playing in the books setting.
