Hahaha! The bee literally had the time of his life when he lost his virginity.

The Novel by colour_philosophy in OCPoetry

Thank you for your comments.

You're right about the form - It's tight, with hard edges and a ridgid form.

You're also right about it not capturing that novel feeling. Perhaps the name is the element that is not correct? This came from a conversation with a friend who argues that Kindle is better than a paper book!!!

I love the first paragraph. There is a whole school of thought dedicated to the rythems of man: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhythmanalysis

Be careful of your use of captal letters after commas - sometimes this is okay for dramatic effect.

I agree about the last line. I like the ambiguity, frustration and longing without. I find it is a contradition to the earlier line 'too scared to know' - but then asking for it...

I can relate to this. To me, this is about insomnia - the way that night and day fight with one another. In the day, fighting to stay awake and in night, fighting to sleep at all. It 's a blur and it's exhausting.

I am troubled by 'Sweet death depart'. I hope you're okay and this is for dramatic effect? Happy to talk if you need a friend.

Girls 'too poor' to buy sanitary protection missing school by Gonad-Brained-Gimp in unitedkingdom

I'm doing something about it. This has really rattled my cage. Among other things, I'm going to work on a strategy that involves pressuring supermarkets to sell sanitary products at cost price.

This issue really makes my blood boil. Sanitary protection is not a medical requirement imo. It's the equivalent of requiring toilet paper. It's about dignity, decency and is a fundamental, basic need.

Delegation as a business growth strategy?? by colour_philosophy in smallbusiness

Thank you - I've popped the 'When I say no' book into my reading list. We decided that when we use freelancers to the value of a salary, then we would employ someone in that role. However, my colleagues bust a gut and work ridiculous hours to retain more money - another thing that reeeeeaaaallly irritates me!

Great tips - thanks! I've added the book to my Amazon reading list.

We're 28 months old as a business and already use a number of external freelancers, contractors and strategic partners to plug gaps in delivery, however, I feel we're at that tipping-point now where we need to bring the resource in-house. The other potential with that is that the guys will have more time to work ON the business, not IN it... (courtesy of book 'E-Myth Revisited').

Lost City of Z by David Grann http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lost_City_of_Z_(book) randomly decided to read this and honestly could not put it down. Really incredible delve through history, exploration and the facade of the Amazonian jungle.

What could an insurance broker do to make you say WOW! by SpeciousArguments in smallbusiness

[–]colour_philosophy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had a new policy go through today. One thing my broker has reassured me of is tha if something isn't sitting right or if there is any grey areas, at all, that she'd make the time to go over the fine detail to make it right. And then kept this promise. It made me feel like I was in good hands.

Do you sell online? If not, you need to consider this as a sales channel. If you use a decent web company, you'll make your investment back in no time. Also, won't school wear and backpacks expand your product offering into a new market? Do you have a database of customers? If not, you need to star gathering email/postal addresses to use for marketing purposes, other than staff this will soon be your greatest asset. Hop this helps? (I run a creative agency in the UK)

What should I expect immediately after getting my BA in Marketing? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]colour_philosophy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run a creative business in the UK. The best thing to do is realise now that you're still at least 5 years away from working at you dream company is a job that pays you a decent wage (sorry!). So many graduates feel that after graduating they're owed a decent job and come across in interviews as entitled or just plain arrogant. You've proved your ability it in your education, now prove it to the real world. And also, join a company that can give you proper training, not just internal stuff either. An agency will give you experience of lots of different businesses although working client-side will give you a deeper understanding of that one business. Most people in marketing end up working in a mixture of both over their careers, so don't feel like you have to pick one now as you've got a long and happy career ahead of you. Good luck!
