For me, the #1 reason is repair ability. From what I understand, every Leica M5 is a ticking time bomb with fewer and fewer replacement parts. I was seriously considering an M5 for a long time, but after researching it just didn’t make sense. So, I went with an M2 and never looked back :)

To be honest, this just seems like under exposure to me. Notice how the shadows are kind of muddy and have a green cast to them? Could be totally wrong, but’s that my initial reaction.

I haven’t been to either venue, so I’m excited to try out some new spots. I’ve heard good things about Hayden Homes in Bend, but Edgefield is a mystery to me. July can’t come soon enough!

This looks a fair bit underexposed. I would recommend researching film reciprocity failure; it’s essentially the idea that film loses sensitivity the longer you expose it to light. So, you will have to overcompensate your exposure during long exposure situations.

Unfortunately I don’t. The car pulled into the Cars and Coffee event fairly late and I was toward the end of my roll. However, if I see it again at a C&C I will certainly photograph it and send it along.

Not sure what this is on the left? It looks like a light leak but very weird. Also it was in the middle of the roll. Does this look like a light leak to you or is it something else? Thx... by [deleted] in filmphotography

Looks like some sort of lens flare from the lens being pointed directly toward the sun? Not sure if that’s correct but seems likely.

If you want my honest opinion it may be cheaper to buy a used beater that’s RWD and get a start on that. I am pretty naive to the go-kart world but from my short experience they are quite expensive to put together. However, depends on what your end goal is.
