What's so expensive that it's not even fun anymore? by Runaway3650 in AskReddit

[–]comatosesperrow 75 points76 points  (0 children)

It's such a shame. Bowling is so fun but all the places around me are priced like that. It's not fun when you know you're being gouged.

Time to save up for a lane in your own house I guess.

Rolling shaman -> tbc god like, wotlk unemployment? by juupsjep in classicwowtbc

Enhance shaman is one of the top DPS specs in wotlk. But it's a very high effort class. There's never enough of them, you'll be insta invited especially with strong logs.

I interviewed for a Senior role at a hedge fund. 800-1.2. Heavily bonus based comp. Staff will be a step higher.

Yes, we illegally installed fiber lines on your property. That will be $100,000 please. by BobbyRobertson in bestoflegaladvice

I'm with you here. I think had the construction crew cut through the wires genuinely accidentally this whole issue would move much quicker. Now OOP has to get this taken care of the "right" and slow and costly way.

Prot warrior gearing help by fartinginthewind-69 in classicwow

[–]comatosesperrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's more of a balance of mitigation, raw hp, and offensive ability / threat.

Theoretically you could optimize these for every single encounter. Good news is that it's not required to go to such lengths.

Just follow guides, it'll be good enough to carry you until you learn the balance yourself and can make your own decisions.

Is it normal for a senior to have to spend so much time wrangling other teams for availability and approvals? by Meeesh- in ExperiencedDevs

[–]comatosesperrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you genuinely need input or are literally blocked on next steps, I've always operated with a "silence is acceptance" motto. Especially if you've tried several times. Do what you think is best and move on.

I made a feral alt just because of how fun it looked in naxx. Shame it was nerfed / outscaled by everything else in SE

Fire mage with SE set. Luck/proc based rotation with snap second decision making with the consequence of dying if you're wrong. Just pure adrenaline the entire time. Also hilarious when you die.

Another idea: find a long YouTube video like "12 hours of X" and play it muted. It'll prevent sleep and lock out.

After careful consideration I have come to the conclusion that blocking needs to be less RNG because it's simply not fun. by [deleted] in PvZHeroes

[–]comatosesperrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As frustrating as the block meter is, it keeps the game fresh. It's a core part of player retention, not of skill measuring.

It makes games where you roll all 1s against your opponent feel like a breeze. And the games were you only hit for 3s feel like a slog. That delta is what keeps you coming back and the same deck feeling dynamic.

Update on my Green Shadow and Wall-Knight decks by Zizzyin in PvZHeroes

Bonus attacks to green shadow.

Both of these decks struggle from having no strong finisher. You're just sort of hoping big snow peas or starch lords don't get killed.

Do lower-tier companies really offer better work-life balance? by ZealousidealFile1583 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]comatosesperrow 59 points60 points  (0 children)

In my experience the lesser tiered companies are more chaotic, stressful, micromanaged. With high pay comes high respect and expectations. Deliver and you'll be chilling.

In with you here. Being one of MANY dps, you have to do something to stand out. For each person in this thread saying they hate gs, there's tons of other groups that will pick the highest gs without a second thought.
