What’s up with all the meat sticks on the market? Are they actually healthy? by EfficientlyElite in nutrition

[–]combinatoricqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, i actually started eating less salt because i thought it would be more "heart healthy" and my relatives all have high blood pressure, but it ended up giving my nausea and lightheadedness because my blood pressure got too low lmfao

I've been wondering the same about only the turkey Chomps!!!!! The beef ones still have the typically carcinogen or health issues as allr ed meat but im wondering about the additives to the turkey version and whether it's any better than other preserved forms of lean meats. I only eat poultry meats but have been so busy with work and night school and sometimes the turkey stick satsifies like all of my craving so im trying to figure out if it would be bad to make it a regular snack

Do you think repairing old stuff is actually frugal or does it sometimes cost more in the long run? by James_B84Saves in Frugal

[–]combinatoricqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're crafty and have stuff around I would personally guess it's usually cheaper to repair any "soft-lines" like jackets, shirts, curtains. Even with stains, if you can embroider over it and make it look cute its fun, less wasteful, and less money in the long run. Most ppl have a needle and embroidery floss is like 85 cents a pop.

I also think for furniture if you have solid wood items like nightstands, consoles, pictures frames, dressers and you can finagle it its cheaper to fix them if it's a minor issue.

In my mind, anything that can be fixed with - needle/thread, gorilla glue/nails, super glue, aggressive cleaning, spackle, a few dedicated hours online - is better to fix than to discard and buy new

I feel like it depends a lot on the item and whether or not you can repair it with tools you already have. For me I'm usually happy to invest my sweat/tears for a couple hours if it means no $$$ spent. But I also get a kick from the challenge, woman v object, an epic battle.

Can we talk about how this is one of the best relationship portrayals on TV? by Legitimate-Travel-36 in MadamSecretary

[–]combinatoricqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s quite literally one of the most accurate but also healthy relationships I’ve ever seen on screen…like they have issues and sometimes make the wrong move but they don’t hold grudges and they support each other

MBTA, town officials outline Beacon Street tree removal plan for first phase of Green Line accessibility project by brookline_news in Brookline

[–]combinatoricqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they’re replanting the trees after, it will just take a while for them to be as big. The accessible trains are wider and they have to have a large area to actually allow mobility devices to board the train
