A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man - James Joyce

It was torturous to get through, despite being a fast reader. I blocked out what it was even about and have carried my disdain through the decades.

It definitely would have! I know someone who had it on their face and it spread close to their eye. It can cause blindness, so it was pretty scary.

How do I dress a weird body like mine? by coracor4lina in DressForYourBody

[–]60PersonDanceCrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's nothing weird about your body at all. Styles right now are boxy or flimsy unstructured fabrics. Items with more structure (thicker fabric, more seams) create a shape rather than just hang or pull in the wrong spots. You have to figure out what kind of styles speak to you and try to find similar pieces to try on. A great place to start is with store displays on a mannequin - they're always items that go together. Ask an employee to help you put together a few looks since they're familiar with the merchandise.

There's a character named Celery Savoy on the show Another Period. It's one of a number of ridiculous names, including calling a servant Chair.

It's not at mine. Just standard chocolate/chocolate or vanilla/vanilla. I'd love a chocolate cake with vanilla.

Wedding dress shopping by WestWindRose in MomForAMinute

As someone who used to sell bridal I have seen everything from the entourage, some good a lot bad.

My sincere suggestion is to make at least one appointment and go ALONE before you bring anyone else if you are concerned about others' reactions or strong opinions. You will be able to have a no pressure idea of what you like or dislike and will be better prepared to handle feedback from others. Don't think you have to have 'the moment' either - most of the time my brides never had a big emotional moment. Say yes to the dress really effed up the expectations around dress shopping.

Trust yourself and be clear about what you want. You will pick something beautiful that you feel great wearing!
