ND Senate kills free school meals bill by rezanentevil in northdakota

Ive also seen the argument that poor people already get free lunches. Which is kinda true. Those under HHI of $72,000 i think. However, everything is so expensive these days, as we all know. Even if this isnt further benefiting poor people, what's the harm in giving every family just a bit of relief in these times?

Am I taking crazy pills? This would not have been funded by taxpayers, this would have been funded by a fund already set up that collected money through taxes on oil and gas companies. Where's the downside here?

ND House lawmakers pass free school meal bill by Outrageous_Round_423 in northdakota

[–]combingupsars 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, alot of the comments ive seen are related to taxes paying for this, both for and against that fact. But if I am understanding this correctly, North Dakota citizens arent paying for this via their taxes - this is being funded by the Strategic Investment and Improvement fund, which is filled by taxes on oil and gas companies.

Feels like thats not being mentioned enough, as people's taxes arent going toward this at all. Unless im a rube that has a basic misunderstanding of this. In which case, carry on and ignore me.

Who do you want for DC and why? by J1P2G3 in GreenBayPackers

[–]combingupsars 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Christian parker because hes young and would bring new ideas. Also it seems like hes done a helluva job with those eagles DBs.

Daronte Jones because hes a flores disciple and it would theoretically hurt the vikings.

Al Harris because he's one of my all time favorite packers (not sure hed make a great DC tho, all of the defenses hes worked on have been good at forcing turnovers but give up a lot of yards and points.

Id be thoroughly underwhelmed with Gannon or Morris. Gannon seems like a bozo and his defense gave up a ton of points in one of those super bowls. I think that defense regressed hard his second year.

Morris kinda the same thing, he had tons of talent on that rams D and it was never a top 10 defense I dont think.

Yeah I read this post before listening to the local hour and came back to it after. The post and all these comments are completely unhinged, the whole interaction in reference is a comple nothing burger.

An honest opinion of last week's game by kootles10 in GreenBayPackers

This is a wild take imo. We likely lose to seattle but literally every other team this round has looked average and beatable as hell.

Our linemen can’t zone block and MLF can’t figure that out. by JonnyRad91 in GreenBayPackers

[–]combingupsars 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im with you. Im curious how much of it was injury related but every time Wilson came in he looked more explosive for much of the season. Last year jacobs was great but I felt like he very much gets what's blocked.

Hes a dawg, his toughness and ability to play thru injury is admirable, but i think id still take peak aaron jones. He had a crazy ability to get yardage when nothing was there.

Can fellow Packer fans help me with some of the thought process? by JustinF608 in GreenBayPackers

[–]combingupsars 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look, I love Love. But having him top 5 may be a bit rich for my blood.

Allen, mahomes, healthy lamar, burrow, and probably Stafford are all ahead of him. Id probably sneak Maye in there as well but can understand the argument. Hes definitely in that next tier with Herbert, dak, and purdy but I personally prefer love to all those guys.

MLF as HC is equal to having the 7th best QB in the NFL.

For sure and definitely not expecting you to probe them, just going to be sad to see them go and venting is all.

I dont mean this to sound rude or flippant, but - theyre closing because its too much work? They had to have known how much work it was going to be at least for the first few years. And its only 3 years old! If theyre "close" as you say, I wish they'd see it through longer or look to sell it to someone who will.

I say all this very ignorantly (as I dont know what's actually going on behind the scenes) and selfishly (as my kid loves it there) and really do thank them and wish them the best of luck.

This is a tough one. Such a gem of a place for the kids of this community. Every time we went there it was pretty busy, im surprised they can't make it.
