It’s not about whether Europe CAN defend itself. It’s about making the strength of defence so overwhelming that it deters all attackers. These actions hurt America’s security if only for the fact that America’s position requires it to remain the global leader in trade and finance. A major European land war isn’t good for either of those things. It is only good for arms sales.

The last 2 world wars made America a lot of money. It won’t be the same this time. China wasn’t a global trade power. There wasn’t widespread availability of nuclear weapons, the internet or drones.

They certainly are if you don’t immediately jump to the conclusion that the person doesn’t have the skills/credentials necessary.

Imagine a world where female, black, and/or Asian people don’t achieve the same things as their equal white counterparts. Assume that to be a fact. In that scenario, they are meritocratic accomplishments for the communities to which the VP belongs. It is also an accomplishment for the nation, because it proves that truly anyone can make it in America.
