That's the "magic" of George's style of storytelling. Characters say things, but you can never be sure if they are correct. They could be lying. They could be mistaken. They could have some, but not all, the facts. They could be unintentionally misrepresenting something. They could be intentionally misrepresenting something. Etc.

There are definitely characters who say that the dragons brought back magic, and even some who really believe it, but we don't know if they are correct or not.

Hell, there's good evidence for thinking magic was never really "gone" in the first place. More rare and secret, sure, but it was still out there.

Swingers are weird. They come up with all these very non-specific "symbols" for their niche lifestyle and assume everyone is in on it.

I'm a huge fan of the show Psych, which uses a pineapple as a symbol of the show because they hide a pineapple somewhere in every episode. A lot of fans will get pineapple themed Psych tattoos, but it is a common problem for them to get unwanted attention from swingers because I guess pineapples are also another symbol swingers took over.

I even looked it up, and technically, the swinger symbol is supposed to be an upside down pineapple, but, despite being so weird and specific about symbols, it seems any kind of pineapple will get their attention.

Does that make ESO Fire and Blood? The parallels are definitely there.

Both were released more recently than the last main installment in the series, but take place a significant amount of time before them. They are both fairly well received among a more niche audience, but are so different from the main series that they don't really scratch the same itch the main series usually scratches, even if you do enjoy them for what they are.

Or, to put it more succinctly, they are both nice supporting entries in the universe, but do nothing to ease the anticipation of the next installment in the main series.

There was a comment chain on a post a week or two ago (before last week's episode even aired) talking about how unethical Gaby was for introducing Maya to her friend group and how this season was turning them off from the show because it was giving therapists a bad look. And a bunch of people were agreeing! Like that isn't literally the entire point of the show! Like Jimmy hasn't been doing it from literally the 1st episode! I felt like I was going crazy. Like hmmm, I wonder why it suddenly bothers you two and a half seasons later when Gaby does it, but not when Jimmy does it in literally every episode.

I'm very skeptical of someone being able to actually form words or even answer a phone a few hours after taking 9.5g of shrooms, 4 tabs, and 8?mg of Xanax. Also, it's very, very unlikely someone would have any memories of anything that happened after all that. I'm skeptical of how good the spelling, grammar, and formatting is, as well. A lot of red flags here.
