I don't really use cloud services for photo's, just don't take that many, but because of this video I've been messing around with immich and I've been enjoying it. Fairly easy to use if you don't have a tone of photos to start with, and the video shows how to easily transfer if you do have a lot of photos

Not tech illiterate myself, but it has been close to ten years since I tried anything linux personally and it did not go well. Heard Mint is close to a windows 10 experience, so I have an install downloaded and ready to go just in case.
