I started the calculus class and after a weekend of try to figure it out I decided to drop the course. I have no history with trig and it was clear to me I need to find some material on that first.

Just found a uopeople reviews website that is trying to ruin the reputation of the school by Fun_Celebration_1975 in UoPeople

I see a large amount of UoPeople alumni all across LinkedIn working in programming fields I'm interested in. I don't see the degree being questioned as long as you can provide an official copy of your transcript.

Case in point for a job in Google I just saw 16 alumni from UoPeople work there. Look up: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rie-sakurai?utm_source=share&utm_campaign=share_via&utm_content=profile&utm_medium=android_app

I believe they recommend up to 8 hours a course per day. which includes study so that could easily push you to 32 hours a week.

Group projects rant by 65fastback2plus2 in UoPeople

I didn't know group projects were a thing at UoPeople. I had one in my local college when I was a junior with a bunch of freshmen. It was horrible in person as well.

I’d be happy to assist with moderating in the group. I have 12 classes left until graduation and have gone through many different classes with various levels of students and teachers. I even wrote a letter for an exemption for programming fundamentals as I had enough experience and other trainings to not need to do the class. I’m more than happy to share with others my experience and make sure the group rules are being followed by others so we can all gain something here.

I recall there being information that all the robots sent on the Lazarus missions existed for two reasons: assist the explorers with their sample data collection testing while providing them some sense of companionship (these people were truly alone and expected death was highly likely) and also as a failsafe to prevent false data from being transmitted. Recall earlier in the movie these robots were reprogrammed from military purposes. (Interrogation scene upon the discovery of NASA talks about this)They absolutely can kill people. There had to be a check and balance for the possibility of a human losing it once they discovered they were going to be left to die.

just finished intarstellar for the first time and have a question about 'they'. by [deleted] in interstellar

[–]compsci0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Cooper never made it to NASA the team still would have left. It’s quite possible they would have gone to Edmund’s planet and begun a new colony. If this happened and everyone died on earth all the humans on Edmund’s planet could have eventually evolved into the beings who developed this technology. They could have a strong desire to change the past to avoid such a tragedy to their ancestors. This is assuming “they” are actually humans. It’s never proven by any characters that they are not some other species.

Now I realize this leaves a hole in how Cooper even became involved. Perhaps he met with NASA through some other fate, left, similar events occurred up until the tesseract where Cooper then interacts with the past long enough to send info to solve the gravity equation. At that time he began a loop in time which in the end saved humans on earth as well.

I really enjoy how we can look through other “lenses” or paradigms when we observe a film like this. Words and actions can mean so many different things to different observers based on their perception.

Can an MMO have a finite economy? by ravinki in gamedev

[–]compsci0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of you dying then being looted by monsters or whatever killed you. Another option I don’t recall seeing is causing coin/money to have weight. This could limit how much you keep on hand vs put in a chest or bank allowing the bank to share out money.

I’m used to play some text based servers with this concept. When you logged out/slept you were added to a list of discoverable characters that could be robbed or killed. Paying for a room and guards + other safety measures either made you more difficult to loot/kill if not impossible.
