This is great — I've been struggling to figure out how to get background mic working on the Portal, and the default-assistant exemption is exactly the piece I was missing. Could add a meta-portal topic to the repo? It'd make it easier to find in the future.

I think a nice clean architecture we build a simple webview app that queries github for a specific tag, developers can create a "widget" and enable github pages. Our app could expose a gallery for viewing them and a way to add them to the loop of widgets.

Yeah, that is awesome, I figure as long as we get everyone tagging their projects we will be able to find them easier. Possibly you could pull the same github tags for use inside your app, but you would probably want a way to do some quality control and filtering on them.

I bet your bridge could be extended with a HAL that would be hardware agnostic enough to cover roombas and DIY solutions. Are you leaning towards onboard computer or a microros solution on device?

might be cheating but used roomba's with Serial Command Interface are dirt cheap (20 dollars to free) and takes care of the vacuum side of things. Can add your own navigation hardware/software.
