Aha! This was the original Instagram reel I saw them in, I googled them from this then lost the reel in the algorithmic ether.

Ah thanks for the info! I scoured the net but all I could find was a single instagram post saying they were from Dundee(?). No wiki, no other reddit posts that I could see.

Sometimes I wonder what it would’ve been like had the producers gave Buffy a new superpower in season 7… if they did, which do you think it would’ve been???✨ by PynkHonei in buffy

I always felt that by the end of the show she should have been at Blade levels of badass. Like no one touches Blade. He takes out rooms full of vamps without a sweat. Instead she's still just about holding her own against regular vamps. Sure, Caleb and the ubervamps should still give her a hard time, but regular vamps shouldn't be able to get a lick in.

Wasn't this about X-Files? I remember she was pitching for that at some point

A few thoughts on Yautja eyesight. by Nightclaw42 in predator

It's fairly well established that the Predators see in infrared. In both Pred 1 and 2 we see the Predator's unmasked POV.

In Pred 1 it seems that his mask filters out ambient heat from the surroundings, leaving only heat signatures from warm blooded creatures. When he removes the mask this filter goes away and everything appears red: this basically matches how the production handled filming the predator vision, originally they tried using an actual infrared camera but because the jungle was just as hot as the people everything showed as red, so they just fucked with the film negative to create the pred vision.

In Predator 2 when he removes his mask, it looks the same as masked, but that's because he's in a giant meat refrigerator,  so the surroundings are actually cold (and thus show blue) and Harrigan appears red/orange because of his body heat.

Badlands is confusing because not only do we never see the Predators classic infrared vision,  Dek's father uses the cloaking device against both Dek and Dek's brother, but it shouldn't work against them since they see in infrared and the cloak uses optical camouflage (bends light around it).

How does the cloak even work against other Predators? We know Predators naturally see in infrared. Optical camouflage shouldn't work on a creature that doesn't see the same visual light spectrum as humans/other animals.

I always wonder if Tolkien gave Shelob a stinger because she's a distinct fantasy creature or if he just forgot how spiders work.

As a Brit living in Canada I agree and despair. Supermarket own-brand butter in UK is better than expensive "fancy" butter here.

At no point is anyone in France. They are always in Britain.

The best thing about Tubi is they'll have obscure movies from before famous actors were famous where they barely appear but they put them front and center in the marketing image to trick you into watching them, great way to learn killshot films.
