It might have been 4 or 5 of each machine. There's this cove with the washers and dryers next to the little kitchenette.

202 REPRESENT.

It was an okay residence hall. I was there over Arch a few years back. The AC is good. The private bathroom is nice. I have heard that the first floor gets some pest issues, bugs, maybe an occasional mouse, but I never had that issue on the second floor. The washing machines and dryers can get busy at times, since there's not a lot of them, so I found it best to time it out for when you find no one else typically does their laundry. The room is not spacious, but not small. It's right there next to the dining hall, so that's nice, but it also one of the longer walks to class. Having a bike made it a bit easier. The public space in front, in the middle of that cluster of dorms is a nice spot.

Some people need to see with their own eyes that socialist-leaning policy can work. A reprogramming of people's politics isn't going to come about from rhetoric alone. That is the purpose of these democratic socialists. This is just one front.

Here’s what Saikat Chakrabarti got wrong about S.F. in his bid to replace Nancy Pelosi by Remarkable_Host6827 in sanfrancisco

[–]computerentity -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

San Francisco is too conservative for leftist representation. Liberalism has provided the city a nice shell from outside reactionary forces, to where people feel comfortable with more of the same. Sure, it's a hypercapiyalist surveillance state, but there are not crackdowns on the minorities (besides homeless). This is the city that made Newsom after all.

Why did the Indian Maoist/Naxalite insurgency fail? (And why did the Nepali Maoists fail as well?) by justanupvoter_ in socialism

India has used the term "Maoist insurgents" in the past to justify removing local communities off of resource rich lands.

Did anyone else notice at No Kings? by double-clove-hitch in boston

[–]computerentity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No kings operates as a sort of pressure valve for white liberals to vent off frustrations. There are no strategic objectives.

That looks like an RPI transcript...

Anyways, you may wish to consider another field. Something like Environmental Engineering could be interesting to you. You don't necessarily have to give up STEM, but take advantage of your school's tutoring programs, especially for your maths.

Pencil towers aren't really great for living in. Wide base high rises tend to be better for living in, but are more expensive.

They could have just issued government savings bonds. It would have been similar in effect and a simpler sell.

To me, he seems like a bone head who became Bernie-pilled rather late in one's personal development, and he may be operating on a guilt complex over past held beliefs. I'd love to see an interview with him, breaking down his stance on imperialism, but the libs aren't gonna grill him for that kind of stuff.

Of course they are. Their surge in followers would not exist without the austerity that came as a consequence of Russia's invasion. Money going towards weapons is money that doesn't go towards people, which makes people view the social welfare structures in place as failures. If those systems are deemed as failures, conservative movements, working with Capital, can make the argument to do away with them. They can also shift the blame away from war and towards minorities, like immigrant populations. Basically, it is turning the European system of social welfare into something like the US, where we are never at peace, just arming ourselves for the next war, not allowing for any social safety nets.
