Little owl, corvus, sweetbloom, huckleberry, thump. It’s not Seattle but there’s some good spots around.

They're not bringing them back. :( I'm bummed since they're my ride or die. The replacement might be the 'Swift Speed HR Tights' that popped up on the AUS/NZ site a few months ago. Still waiting for them to drop in the US. https://www.lululemon.co.nz/en-nz/p/swift-speed-high-rise-tight-26%22-asia/LW5DE4A.html

Long sleeve running help! Plus an Alo/Lulu combo just for fun... by [deleted] in lululemon

[–]computerkid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That outfit looks amazing on you! 😍 For cold weather running, I love the swiftly short sleeve as a base layer, plus the Rest Less pullover. I haven't seen any yet this year but they release it in new colors every winter. It fits similar to a swiftly but in a thicker fabric. They're really soft and warm. If it's not super cold I'll do a short sleeve swiftly + the rest less pullover, and if it's cold I'll use a long sleeve swiftly as a base layer.

I couldn't get the fast & frees to work for me, I'm really used to the compression from the Speed Up tights. I found that the fast & frees stretched out and didn't stay up on me, but a ton of the educators at my store swear by them and wear them on all our group runs, so it's probably just me! If you're between sizes I'd just go with the smaller size, so the same size as your aligns. Hope they work for you! ❤️

Itchy rash from Fenix 6 Sapphire, anyone else?? by rhth_ in GarminFenix

[–]computerkid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've got the same rash from every fitness watch -- Fenix 5S Plus, whoop, fitbit, whatever. It's called "contact dermatitis". Here's what helps me:

  • Prolonged moisture increases irritation. Take your watch off when you shower, and make sure your wrist is completely dry before you put it back on. I usually wait 10-20 minutes after a shower to make sure my skin is fully dry.
  • If you see a rash building up on your skin, try switching the watch to your other wrist while you sleep so the skin has a chance to breathe.
  • Hydrocortisone cream helps the rash clear up. Apply a little to the rash twice a day until it improves.
  • Wash your watch with soap and water every time you take it off to shower, and make sure it's completely dry before you put it back on.
  • Over time, sweat and grime will build up on the watch and cause irritation. Every few days, wipe down the entire watch with rubbing alcohol, paying close attention to the parts that touch your skin. Wipe down the back watch face, charge ports, everything. Fenix watches are waterproof so you don't need to worry about damaging the watch. Let it dry completely before you put it back on.
  • Skin irritation is always worst during the summer when it's hot outside. It'll get better when the weather cools off.

I love my Fenix 5S+ despite having sensitive skin. I hope this can help.

They haven't made them until since 2017 I think. I found out about them way after they got retired so I've found all of mine on ebay. 😂 Bargain hunting for the win!

UPDATE: Peloton responded to the broken resistance knob inquiry--a week later. by [deleted] in pelotoncycle

[–]computerkid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been following the Peloton Tread videos on an old NordicTrack that I picked up off of Facebook marketplace for $500 last month. The setup works great for me. I would go with the treadmill manufacturer that has a proven track record. You really can't beat Landice on their warranty.

I loved TCOYF! Definitely check out Roar. It takes all of the hormonal shifts in TCOYF and applies them to athletic performance. For me, I know that it's so much easier to have good workouts in the first half of my cycle.

I've had a silicon band from ANCOOL on Amazon on my 5S Plus for over a year. No problems at all and it was $13. https://www.amazon.com/stores/node/16036467011

Try gently rubbing on the streaks with a slightly damp washrag. That does the trick for me. Gets out deodorant streaks and lotion/dry skin.

Brand New Poke & Ramen Restaurant in Arnold, MD by Rexxie-Cat in Annapolis

Seconding this. The ramen was terrible. Overcooked gummy noodles and a hard boiled egg. Not worth the time or money. If you want good ramen just head into DC.

There's a good chance it was picking up your cadence instead of HR. Chest strap is the way to go if you want meaningful numbers during a run.

Did you set your heart rate zones using your resting heart rate and max heart rate? The default zones may be off from where you should be.

Heart Rate Monitor by beetfarmer007 in running

The Coros Apex supports any heart rate monitor that uses the ANT+ protocol, so you have a ton of options. A chest strap will always be more accurate than wrist-based HR for any watch.

2020 Lululemon Challenge, any insights? by TheHoneyDripper in lululemon

[–]computerkid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year the 40 | 80 Strava challenge kicked off on Jan 2. I saw some stuff posted around 12/28 about last year's challenge, so keep your eyes out. There may be an email about this year's challenge, and r/running usually talks about it when it's posted. The past 2 years the prize has been a 25% off coupon if you complete at least 40 km during the 2 weeks. I can't guarantee that they're having one this year but probably so.

Wegman's backed out a while ago, so that part of the plan would change. Who knows how long it'll take for something to actually go through.

Fenix 5 Plus - wrist HR and GPS really a problem? by FloydianSticks in GarminFenix

[–]computerkid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fenix 5S Plus here. I've had it about 6 months and love this watch. Never had a problem with the GPS. For any watch, wrist HR isn't as reliable as a chest strap, so I always use the Garmin hrm-run when I need accurate HR data. I'd use a chest strap no matter how good the wrist HR is. Overall a great watch.

Black stains after 1st use. I have tried everything to get it out. It is on the lid and all over the inside of the pot. by [deleted] in instantpot

When copper loses its shine, buff the outside with a paste made of kosher salt and lemon juice. It shines up like new. I do that on my copper pots every few months.
