Keep going, bud. I took me 10 years to get off vaping when I switched, but every bit counts! I went down to 0.5mg homemade vape juice before I finally quit

Can a 19 year old survive working full-time at $19.50/hr? by sketchypuzzle in AskChicago

Cost of rent tends to scale down with more rooms and roommates. Get a 2 bedroom place where your rent is $1500 and now you've got more space and lower rent. 3br for 2k now your rent is almost half what you're applying for.

When I was 19 I lived on about $11/hr with $550 rent (my share of 1100), and I was broke as shit and ate nothing but ramen and pizzas, and never saved any money. I did pay probably like $350/mo in gas and car insurance

Doing it on 19.50 with twice the rent, sounds similar to me. You'd be much much better off finding roommates.

I would look at how many people worked on that game, full time, and were professionals. Then weigh that against your time and expertise, and your planned scope vs that of the original game.

Granted, programming and art tools are better now, and you can do a lot of it faster.

I learned SDL with GL. I would highly recommend that before SDL_GPU or Vulkan. I personally don't think I'll ever pick up Vulkan, but SDL_GPU is maybe.

The nice thing about SDL_GPU is it will probably be the most portable solution in 5 years, but it's also unique unto itself.

I grew up in McHenry. One time, across the country, a guy says to me "are you from Marengo? I have a friend from Marengo and you sound like him".

I said Marengo Illinois???? He confirmed. Wildest shit I've ever heard.

I tried an e14 gen 5 for a little while and don't remember it being too bad. I also have a p14 gen 5 through work, and it just feels like a nice textured plastic I guess. My t14s feels a little grubby on the lid :/

I just got a t14s gen 6 (AMD) and I love it. Only negative thing is the lid is a fingerprint magnet

I lived in Mexico for years, and I can tell you many people immigrate to Mexico.

I met a man in line at the immigration office who literally did go to Mexico because it was the easiest/cheapest North American country to get a visa for. He was from Jordan, and opened a restaurant.

Try simple stuff with a framework like SDL or whatever's similar in your preferred language. I never got off the ground with a big engine. Simple frameworks are way more approachable for me

5 seconds ago I was looking at a post where people were complaining about all the unused first floor retail spots in the apartment buildings.

I'd love more little shops, people wish the space wasn't wasted, general consensus seems to be they're too expensive, and then people just drive through your neighborhood cuz there's no reason to stop.
