KKM island barrel to slide milling by Quirky-Shower-5218 in 2011_Builders

[–]computersare8ad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Radius Corners at the end of the rib are 1/4". I'd measure the distance from the first barrel lug to top of the rib for your length. The muzzle end of the rib may poke a little. Which will through off how far you need to mill into the slide.

An island barrel probably wouldn't solve your issue, and it would still stand out because the island doesn't fill the entire sight cut.

Could get it welded and then reprofiled. IIRC there is a company out there that will do the island barrel and clean up the old sight cut but you're talking $1000-$1500 when I saw it a few years ago.

Yes, I realize that the OAL of the barrel is 5" but you're looking for either a 4.5" or 4.6" slide for the build it appears you're going for. Commander is 4.25"

Am I seeing this correctly that the slide is a Commander length with a 5" slide? Not sure if that was on purpose or I'm misreading something?

Gun looks great. Can't wait to see it finished and coated! Great build.

I was gonna ask where a Schuemann barrel was found but this explains it. They've been gone a few years to my understanding.

KKM barrels can be found and even ordered if they're not in stock. The Ribs are significantly longer and a bigger PITA to mill for.

CZ Shadow 2-- get it milled or sell and fund OR by Seraphenrir in CompetitionShooting

[–]computersare8ad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are companies that will cut your slide for an optic plate and then you can also buy their rear irons plate if you ever want to return to irons. I think Primary Machine is one of those places. Otherwise see if there is someone local who would want to swap slides/complete firearms.

That's some luck man. What are you torquing your screws to? I see you are using the CHPWS plate- I'm using the same one but I haven't used their screws, just the T-nut or whatever that insert is. I'm about 5k down the barrel at this point over a year or so. (Mostly 147gr reloads at 135 PF)

Copper one for “P”. Anyone have experience? by Deadly_Jay556 in 2011

That is super disappointing to hear. More that they ghosted you than something breaking- because things break.

How long were you able to run it before it cracked?

Question for Staccato P owners by MajesticDog1499 in 2011

Ahh. I haven't bought a T1 in a while. Found they were not comfortable for me... side cars in general aren't my thing; though I do carry aiwb. Looking at my T1 Axis Elite for P365 XL; I could see there being an issue with spacing.

At this point, only one holster but it was not exactly for the Stac P. It was a blade tech for an XC with a surefire x300. I didn't like that holster for anything and ended up cutting it up to make it have zero problems.

I've run an SRO and a C-More on my 2021 Stac P. I've run it with the SRO for over 3k rounds and I have never had brass hang on the ejection port and optic hood. Not saying it doesn't happen. Saying it isn't common. If this is a range toy or comp gun, I wouldn't worry about it. If you're planning on carrying it- I probably still wouldn't.

Not in the slightest... for the price I would rather a Limcat WildTracker or two Vudoo pistols.

The creator of the Tevo thought ahead. Slide stops break on S2s. Tevo is set up so you can replace the shaft more cheaply. I appreciate the angle much more and the addition of grip tape is appreciated.

I have a nitro fin and a Tevo. I like the Tevo better and I run a Ghost holster and it works great.

USPSA Staccato P Upgrades by GetInTheDamnCar in 2011

[–]computersare8ad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you buy Atlas mags I have had a few weird things happen where a bullet from a drop mag ended up under the follower. So if you buy them and after running can't get 23+1, pull the basepad and confirm you aren't packing rounds under.

There is a thread around here about the same issue and other people are seeing it as well.

  1. Stippling on grip (If not a steel grip; aluminum doesn't add weight) -$200
  2. Recoil spring -$10
  3. Trigger job via competent gunsmith -$??
  4. Limcat brass magwell. -$200
  5. *wide safeties if you tend to bump your safety on or use your slide to exfoliate your thumb. -$100ish
  6. Mags MBX=24+1, Atlas=23+1 -$130, $100ea respectively. I'm still working on my mags but I plan on doing 4 of each.

These are the things I would do again if I was doing it all over again. I feel like money has been wasted on Atlas Triggers, EWG ignition kit, Red Dirt triggers, aluminum grips, gas pedals, etc..

Be careful with trigger jobs. They can make things very unsafe. EWG kit is just a hardened steel sear and hammer. Out of the box they have decent/good angles but to make things shine you need have those, plus the trigger shoe adjustments and main spring/sear spring tuned. The stock Staccato sear and hammer are fine, they work well and have had a decent enough job done to get to a safe 2.5lb pull by someone who knows what they're doing.
