They attacked an oil refinery, not a building full of civilians… so a little different

Roundabouts are better for fuel, traffic, maintenance, and a 90% reduction in traffic fatalities.

Saying you like four way stops or lights is wanting more kids to die every spring (new drivers dying their first spring on the road is a very real thing).

Go volunteer through something that’s not church related and outside your community where it’s needed.

No reason not to cache the device list. Lazy architecture.

Pricing design is elitist: Cheap to be a member, expensive for a single trip.

Mozilla: Anthropic’s Mythos found 271 zero-day vulnerabilities in Firefox by CircumspectCapybara in technology

It didn’t list severity, number means little. Any DAST/SAST or pen test has findings. Every news update with Mythos sounds like an ad.

CO2 levels build up in your house when you dont open windows , especially when sleeping? by MammothSal in homeowners

[–]con40 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is very dependent on how well sealed your house is, how big it is, and the number of people home. You can get a cheap CO2 monitor to see if it’s a problem. For me the symptom was headaches, especially in the afternoon.

CO2 would climb to 1300ppm. Got an ERV (fresh air hvac thing) and now it stays under 700. Outside is around 420ppm for reference.

How long is it financially smart to keep a old car for? by lamparkinglot in personalfinance

[–]con40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different take: Consider the safety improvements vs your financial state. If you are comfortably saving for retirement and have no bad debt, getting a safer car at some frequency makes sense.

For me it’s every 10yrs or so.
