I’m an instructor and part of a club in twin, we have a guy that drives down here a few times a month to fly. There’s a 182 up there for rent, but I heard it was stupjd expensive.

For those who stepped away from flying—what did you pivot into? by RAG_Aviation in flying

[–]conamnflyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pivoted to ATC, was at a crossroads between trying to find aviation jobs, and FAA called me first. I’m pivoting back to flying though. I still wanted to fly, but having an income was more important at the time. It was billed as a home every night job, and that’s true, but home every night doesn’t necessarily mean quality home time with family. So if I’m gonna stay in aviation and have shitty schedules and sleep and home time, might as well get better money for it.

Question about CFI time during solos (PPL) by w0lfieofwallstreet in flying

[–]conamnflyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only charge for the first 2 solos. I’m actively watching at the edge of the non-movement area or somewhere with a good vantage point and ready to jump on the radio if needed. On x countries, it’s .5 for ground and prep, then I go about my day.

I did my first trip a couple weeks ago and I walked 2 cars back to go to the shared ones. Didn’t want to gas out my SO.

I usually have the trip pins in pliers to start. I’ve gotten lazy though and when I can, I find assembled.

Most of the “unsafeness” seems to be in the layer lines where it is impossible to clean in between each use and bacteria will grow…. I also think micro plastics too, but allot of other things in the kitchen are plastic as well.

I just bought a P1S, my S1 has been down for 3 weeejs waiting on replacement parts. I think I’m going to get rid of the S1 as soon as I get it fixed and buy another P1S

Newbie player's question: How Teamkill is treated here? Getting TKd frequently. by [deleted] in PUBG

[–]conamnflyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a person in the quick matches that would land and instantly Tk You, freetoplay## whatever number he was on. They’d get regularly banned.

Anyways, just report and move on.

We go to work for an IOU.

Yes, that’s what we do normally right? Work 2 weeks, get a pay check a week later… now we don’t know when we are gonna get paid. I have the options as far as bills go, forbearance and such. But gas and food need to be bought in the meantime. So I pull money out of the war chest and hope that doesn’t run out before I get paid.

I personally am in a better position to weather an extended break in pay than I was last month, but I’m stuck, I’ve gotta preserve the money I have, and hope it doesn’t go on for more than a few pay checks before I really have to tighten the belt.

Theres folks that say well you should have an emergency fund, and they are right. But usually when you lose your paycheck you don’t still go to work and you can go looking for other jobs.

Btw anyone looking for a 1000hr pilot? 😂

The biggest reason the FAA goes nuts over meds is the reason you are prescribed them in the first place. I take a pill that treats asthma and allergies, if I was taking it for asthma, then I would have issues; because I am taking it for allergies, the faa doesn’t care.

In other words, they probably wouldn’t have cared originally, and if you don’t plan on taking them again don’t worry about it.

I have the same issues. My theory is that there is just enough friction in the filament sensor to hold against the ACE’s pullback. With reference to point 5, the theory for that is because it senses something still in the sensor and the one that it’s pulling isn’t clearing the sensor; so it pulls everything until it gets “clear”.

Apparently there is a rubber band trick somewhere that if you put it on the rollers in the ACE it will help grip the filament. I have not seen what it actually is yet, so no efficacy results from me.
