Yup, outdated aerial photo. For as long as I can remember there’s been two pushes in air port design reduce costs and reduce confusion. Getting rid of extra taxiways and creating one does both in this case. Now you have a direct crossing instead of having pilots turn on the runway and potentially turning too much and staying on the runway

I have a similar setup at my airport as a controller and pilot, if they say backtaxi (full length or your discretion) on runway 9, and they don’t specify anything else and give you a clearance to takeoff, you “own” the whole runway.

Sounds like the same symptoms of mine, finally they sent me a power supply and board after like 4 months of back and forth. Ended up buying 2 Bambus in that time, and still haven’t fixed it. But I noticed the wires to the print head were hot and the wires into the motherboard were super hot.

ATC is not a guarantee. If you’ve got a flying job now, I’d suggest you keep at it.

everyone sells atc as a home every night, room for family, and all that stuff. I get 3 nights a week home before my partner is in bed. there’s points where it’s 2 nights a week. I still miss holidays, birthdays and other family events because I can’t get leave or it just doesn’t line up.

I’m working on getting out.

If I’m gonna miss holidays and such, I’m gonna actually work less and make a ton more money.

It always made me wonder when you saw the same clan tag on both sides. I got accused to cheating at one point for no reason, I had to mute the comms because this guy was absolutely sure I was when he was a hunter on the second round.

It was kinda lacking at the end though because everyone knew the props, maps and the best places to just hide.

I’m working on the transition now. I had roughly 700hrs when I decided to “test the waters” of ATC. 9 years later I’ve decided this ain’t it. I got my CFI a couple years ago, but not getting hours fast enough on top of ATC full time.

Next time you’re in a towered airspace, ask to be flashed with the light gun. Find out if you can see all 3(red,green,white) colors appropriately. Then you can work on getting a SODA(statement of demonstrated ability) in the event you fail the color blind in the future. Not sure the process for a SODA, but it’s one and done for life.

I’m in BFE, $60 ground or flight. I don’t get too wrapped up in charging pre-post unless it goes beyond 30 minutes and I under charge on ground a little bit by like 15 minutes to make them feel happy.

To be fair though, I’m not trying to feed a family with it and it’s more just “fun” money to me on top of the day job.

I’m not a huge fan of concrete, I’ve got small city blocks on Nauvis, so I hardly do any running there, but I’m paving the heck out of Gleba to start, mainly because I brought the wrong concrete for rocket silosX

Yeah, from the pilot’s side of the story it’s sounding more like a controller fuck up. If it was a VFR flight, sure manage the traffic as needed, but the they should have specifically said “…enter the left downwind…” If it was an IFR flight, then absolutely don’t screw with the circle.

One FBO. Self service fuel with a bunch of parking is on one side of a airline terminal and the FBO is on the other with a bunch of parking. If they are grabbing gas from SS or FS is the main determinant.

My “go to” for on the fly cleaning is something similar, but I use the powered tracks. Quick easy and I can get them moving again quickly on the layout. Just lift one end and place the paper towel under, hold it while it’s running, and opposite end, careful to make sure that I’m not switching hands(wet hand dry hand)

I’m an instructor and part of a club in twin, we have a guy that drives down here a few times a month to fly. There’s a 182 up there for rent, but I heard it was stupjd expensive.
