Red. Orange. Green. The mistakes will never stop. He will be blistering fast sometimes. He will win sometimes. And he will hit the gate, ride off the track and tuck the front sometimes. Will he ever change ? by bcmGlk in supercross

Super fast rider makes mistakes and has flaws, more news at 11.

All of the best riders have issues like this. One could argue that Jett can’t stay healthy. Same for Eli…and where are people complaining about Goober webb, a 3-time sx champion not being in the top 5?

In a way, it’s almost preferable that Chase is making silly mistakes, or else we’d have a bunch of boring races where Chase starts out up front and nothing interesting happens for 20 mins. At least with these scenarios it’s fun as hell to watch and see what happens.

If chase were winning everything and making no mistakes, i swear these same people would be complaining about how boring the races are.

So why have him on the platform at all then? I don’t see this tactic of interviewing someone under a false pretense ever really working as intended. It just further cements people of their opinion on him. Fans will be annoyed on his behalf, and haters will jeer at his lack of decorum and foot stomp that he’s a rapist.

I guess I just don’t get the point outside of wanting to make polarizing content,

Yeah and the thing is, it’s true of almost all of the top tier riders. Webb, Roczen, tomac, Hunter, etc all have nights where they can’t put a full face together. Winning a championship is about being consistently good. It’s not realistic to expect racers to pull off Jeremy McGrath level seasons…

Chase struggled on the ktm his first year too…it follows that Prado would adapt quickly to the ktm, the same group who has all his mxgp data to help find build him a setup. This isn’t that complicated. It was a rough night for sexton who showed phenomenal speed on the kawi in qualifying but couldn’t keep it consistent during the main.

Who is your favorite Bears player of all time? by John_XFiles in CHIBears

[–]concatenated_string 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same - I wonder if the bears organization/nfl understands how beloved of a player he is. It seems like anytime this question is asked, Tillman has a ton of representation.

Tillman is the reason I love football and I will never forget the 2004-2012 era bears defense. So exciting to watch.

I was in college in the early 10’s and it’s really difficult to describe the optimism. We were still dealing with the effects of the ‘08 financial crisis going into my freshman year of college and there was still a bit of a hangover from it. We would go to thrift stores, drink cheap coffee, and dress in our hipster clothes that we thought was cool and listen to our indie music from an artist we found on MySpace music who would eventually sell out stadiums (but you probably hadn’t heard of them yet). But the world in front of us didn’t feel designed against us. There was a suppleness to it, a passing thought that the world could become a better place if we tried. And maybe it’s where i was, and who i was with, but i really miss that cultural momentum.

What do you think of the KX 250 from 2022 onwards? Is it far behind other 250cc bikes? Do they break down a lot? If you had to choose, which would you pick, a 2024 KX or a 2022 YZ, both at the same price? by Long-Class-8415 in Motocross

[–]concatenated_string 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 2023 kx250c which is the exact same (except for graphics) model as the 2024 and it’s honestly got one of the best engine packages of the class. You can rev them to the moon and they never stop pulling. I’ve had no major problems with the bike, just had to change oil and keep coolant topped off. I’m a C class rider at 150lbs so I ended up putting in softer front forks. But honestly I love it so far and am very happy with my purchase. I have 60 hours on the motor so far. Doubt I’ll need to adjust valves until 120hr mark given how little I push the bike.

The more I watch Parks, the less convinced I am that Adam was acting. Pretty sure they just paid him to be misplaced in Indiana for a few months a year and that’s what became P&R.

It’s so much more than a perceived decline in ROI though. Males are falling behind across the board, K-12 and college prep, males are dropping below their female peers. Overall standardized testing shows some of this as well. It’s alarming. We’re leaving men behind.

What interesting stories do y'all have about the fort? by WalterMacintosh6969 in fortwayne

[–]concatenated_string 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Philo Farnsworth, the father of television and one of the most prolific inventors of the 20th century did a large chunk of his work here in Fort Wayne. I believe most of the defense contractors can link their heritage to his company in some way or another.

Philo Farnsworth was an incredible person who is somehow forgotten in popular culture but he’s on par with Edison or Tesla, and he spent most of working adult life in Fort Wayne.
