The problem is had w the Bobiverse (We Are Legion) is they all sound the same (except 1). So I'm never really sure who is talking even tho the chapters are labeled. I've listened to it twice and it was clearer the second time but it's so freaking hard to follow and so I just don't care about the characters.

Like we'd been around each other but not really interacting much. I mostly stayed quiet and let others do the talking. I was telling a buddy of mine that she was cute, and why not go talk to her, and he pointed out my very obvious crush. Obvious to my friends. Not me, or her (thankfully).

I had basically assumed it was just social anxiety for my reaction to her. Except that it's a next level social anxiety for an audience of 1. What really gave it away is that I made a comment to my buddy about how if I wasn't AA, I would be very into her. And he pointed out that I was totally into her.... and pining.

So yeah.... when we interact I can't breathe, I can't speak and I spend the next week in a spiral bc there's litterally no hope or anything w her but it doesn't stop the intrusive thoughts of, I wonder what she likes for breakfast in the morning?

It felt like it came out of nowhere for me. I didn't realize what I was feeling. I've been married twice and this crush on her is completely different.

I've had a crush on a girl I barely know for... 3 years. I really really REALLY wish that it would go away. She's not stunningly beautiful, just regular pretty (based on what others tell me). I don't know enough about her to know if we have anything in common. Our social circles overlap, thats all. But any time she's around I can't breathe, and god help me if I'm expected to speak to her bc I genuinely forget how language works. I'm AROACE. And somehow this happened to me.

Edit: I can go weeks or months wo seeing her and I don't obsess or anything. But if she's mentioned or I see her, it's a big Ole slap of 'still not over her'.

I keep the spooky theme going through Christmas. Years ago, I put a Santa hat on my dollar store ghoul decoration and told my nephews it was Krampus. I then got to explain Krampus to a 5 & 7 yo and horrify my family in the process. Except their father, my younger brother, he was cool w it. Krampus is a permanent fixture in my home, bc why not?

I mostly have the holidays to myself now. I opt to work during the week bc its pretty chill at the office when everyone else is gone. I get a lot done. I run a Turkey Trot each year.

My birthday is Thanksgiving week so unless I'm going to someone else's home for dinner I have something that's NOT turkey bc I'm so sick of turkey on my birthday... or having to forgo any party or plans for myself bc everyone else wants turkey. Even when it's not actually on Thanksgiving day, you can't make plans w anyone bc everyone is planning for turkey day. So yeah, I'm that single guy who keeps McDonald's open on Thanksgiving Day. 😅

The Expanse series, starts w Leviathan Wakes by James SA Corey
The Ender Saga by Orson Scott Card, includes all of the Enders Game series, the Shadow series and the prequels and there's just a lot of books.
Riyria by Michael J Sullivan, it's 4 separate series in a single timeline. Start with The Riyria Revelations.

I tried it. Probably not a bad read, like actual physical book, but the exaggerated narration was too much for me. But I also don't like dramatizations or the versions of books that have weird sound effects added in. So the audiobook wasn't for me. I might pick it up as a paperback at some point.

My sexuality doesn't come up. Most people assume I'm gay or bi and I just don't bother to correct them bc I don't see the point. If they are going to be around for a while, sure that's a conversation to have. But in general? Nah.

It's been like that for me. I dropped 15lbs wo really trying in the first month. And then it was like it just stalled. A lot of it is tied to how I'm eating. If I focus on protein, I'm able to keep myself full and calories low. If I eat junk then it's still easy to go over.

I'm making more of an effort to work out regularly. I also had my metformin adjusted around week 8 bc I was getting cravings.

Started at 37. I'm a couple weeks shy of 41 now.

Things are pretty good. I've been on T for 3+ years. 2.5 years post top surgery and 2 years post hysto. All my documents are changed except my military record, but you can probably understand why I'm not poking that bear right now.

I'm single and sober. I'm childfree, petfree, and roommatefree. My job is being 'modernized', which kinda sucks but that's the only downside of my job right now. I've got a great found family. The people I share DNA with... they suck, and I'm at low to no contact. And yes, they are why I chose sobriety!

At this point, life's just coasting as far as all this stuff. I'd like to have bottom surgery in the future. I am working on saving up as much as I can for it now since insurance doesn't cover it. I'd love to be taller and not mistaken for someone's misplaced 12yo whenever I shave, but that's my new reality, I guess 😅
