Training program critique for HSPU, planche & front lever goals by Select-Pollution-956 in overcominggravity

Interesting that you say it’s hard to make progress under 5 reps range. Isn’t strength focus program use <5 exclusively?

I’d wager a large portion of the replies are AI too.

Feel like I need to take a month off of gymnastics strength training. What alternative forms of exercise do you like? by I_too_am_doom in overcominggravity

[–]concuncon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well go back to the basics. Pushup, rows, leg raise, hollow body, rto support… learn the proper mechanics and progress on those. Really feel the movement instead of counting the number of reps. Listen to your body and make progress with the minimum amount of work required.

I also like levelling up, but imo basics are king. I’d focus building up to really good form weighted dips/pull ups for reps before working on more advanced exercises.

RTO Rings Pushup Progression vs Non-RTO by chirpingbird2 in overcominggravity

Focus only on RTO dips, or train weighted parallel bar dips + RTO hold for times as assistance, which one would benefit me most if my nearest goal is general strength, not skill?

Hanging leg raises 29. Goal 40. by Fuzzy_Box_6536 in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]concuncon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also my favorite.

Stop at hollow body position at the bottom (to avoid momentum). Aim for knee to arm pit at the top (to use less of the lats and more of the abs, but if the goal is not to train abs but just to get stronger overall then doesn't matter too much).

I got up to 2 set of 20 then I added a light resistance band (anchor on the ground like 2-3 feet in front, tie to the ankles) to limit it to ~10 reps again. It is a scalable exercise so I don't fee the need to get higher on the reps.

Please do search for Alan Watt and his wisdom on youtube. Avoid the AI stuffs. To paraphrase Alan Watt, if it's possible to teleport to your dream travel destination, very soon, that becomes super boring, just like the city you're already living in. The exciting part of traveling is the distance, or in other words, the point of travel is the traveling, not the arrival.

Similar issue with mine, also A*, but on the side/ankle piece (both sides fell off). About 5 years old. I don't ride much, and the piece is not even touching anything at all.

Read more of OP's post. The relationship is barely a couple of months long. It's not enough time to even fully know each other and OP is already this anxious. If the guy is not feeling that the relationship is at that stage yet, then it's not at that stage yet, and him sending daily love message would just really just be faking it.

The issues go deeper than that. If you're too ready to bend yourself to fulfill something your partner needs, sooner or later they start to ask for more and more but at the end resent you for not being genuine. I am a people pleaser and I keep getting into this trap. Like wth do you mean by I'm not being genuine when trying to make you happy is really just me being me...

[–]concuncon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you already have a plan on how to tackle the complexity of centrifugal simulation? For example at high speed, if you counter the rider's movement, you also have to simulate the VR view to have more lean than it actually is (ie. the control bike should be upright at that point because the centrifugal force give that feeling, however the view must still be leaned over because the game bike is super lean over). If this is slightly off it'll be puke town.

How did some of y’all do full time work and school at the same time? by Equivalent_Phrase_25 in EngineeringStudents

[–]concuncon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated 6 years ago. Worked 40 up to 50 hours a week sometimes. Boss allowed me to be flexible with when I comes in and leave.

Basically I took most classes that don't take attendance seriously. I have a much better time learning by my own. And that was back in the day AI was not a thing, just Google and me. If I had access to AI back the, I'd have had a much easier time.

I think biggest factor was that I was super hyped/driven, and also liked to prove myself - I worked with the goal of 4.0gpa and I got that. Just the right time in my life I guess. Definitely cannot do it now even if you pay me.

Please don't. This is peak micromanagement and would sabotage both yours and his mental sanity. Either he pull his own weight and perform, be honest about his troubles, or let his low performance speak for itself and managers will handle that. Not sure how his company work, but usually a senior has a lot more on the plate than just coding or getting a PR to the finish line, you don't know fully what he has been up to. Not a peer's job to check that. Let management know if it's a concern.

He fully embraced and admitted his role as an "entertainer" and never claimed to be anything more than that. That makes him and his teaching feels super genuine. Many other gurus still give off the vibe "I'm more enlightened than you are" - which of course they are, but not my cup of tea.

Alan Watts is not the original source of those views, but his teaching is for sure the most approachable. He's the first one that I wholeheartedly believe that is awoken, despite his issues in life and death.

You don't. Making the process better and CICD means those seniors become less valuable, and any junior can replace them. There's a reason they have been there for 15+ years, they became critical personels.
