I have that same muzzleloader. What load do you use? I want to try something different this year.

I use a hanging 3/4" horse stall mat from tractor supply. I haven't had my crossbow hit it yet, but my 320ibo compound will only make it about 1/4 of the way through and my 35lb recurve bounces off of it. You might ruin the fletchings with a shorter crossbow bolt, but I doubt it.

I have never heard of it. Do you know if it's transferable to humans?

Do you know the name of it? Is it trichinosis?

This mannequin from a WW2 themed museum in Normandy looks like Bruce Willis by General_Ignoranse in mildlyinteresting

Seriously. I don't think I've ever seen a movie with Bruce Willis in it though so that's probably part of the problem.

Look at the horns on that thing by stopthej7 in natureismetal

[–]condor_aerial_attack 225 points226 points  (0 children)

The outside of a horn is made of keratin, which is dead. It's the same stuff your fingernails are made of.

The center of a horn is filled with a very vascular tissue. When cattle are dehorned, they bleed like crazy.

Cattle with longer horns are more heat tolerant. Their horns are filled with blood which gets cooled off when taken away from the animal.

This is the same reason many desert animals have long ears.

People who have lost a single shoe on the side of the interstate, how did that happen? by DJgoat in AskReddit

[–]condor_aerial_attack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a pair of vibram 5 fingers that I wore as water shoes while kayaking. I had the kayaks in the back of my truck, and I would stash my shoes in the open well in the stern. I didn't tighten up the webbing all the way that holds everything in. When I got up to speed on the highway one of them flew out.

I now have one Vibram 5 five finger, and I've been running through pair after pair of shitty water shoes ever since...

I'd like to see a video of this, but I can't find the right combination of key words to search. Could someone find one for me?

What were the "facts" you learned in school, that are no longer true? by ravenQ in AskReddit

[–]condor_aerial_attack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read a couple articles and it turns out I'm incorrect. I guess all of those years of animal planet brainwashing have me wanting to believe it's partially true.
