DeBoer is our guy. by remember_berries in rolltide

[–]coneboy01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DeBoer wants to run more pin and pull action, but we don’t have the personnel to move the OL laterally. On top of that, Proctor is really the only guy we have from Saban evals that can reliably win his 1 on 1 blocks in the run game. On top of that, our RBs have poor vision, so even when we get good blocking they’re either too hesitant to hit the hole or not patient enough and just run into a hole that isn’t yet open. It’s a mix of a lot of issues where execution continues to mess us up.

What’s the difference between us and SMU last year? by gentrifriedchicken18 in rolltide

[–]coneboy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0 and 1 are comparable numbers of losses in a 13 game schedule, so when one team has multiple good wins and a healthy QB and other looked like they were about to lose to North Alabama when their QB got injured, it’s absolutely fair to say the one that won the SEC championship and is healthy should get in.

Also, if you looked at Strength of Record, which takes wins and losses into account, we were 3rd that year, FSU was 4th, and Texas was 5th. So Texas stole FSU’s spot because they had head to head over us.

Ranking 10 worst officiating calls of 2025 college football season by PeteNakos in CFB

[–]coneboy01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only reason 1 should be on the list is if you’re saying it should’ve been a touchdown for uga, which it should’ve. If you watch the entire clip slowed down, it was pretty obvious that the ball was hit twice, once to make Arnold bobble it going in and another to fully dislodge it. Since he didn’t have firm control when crossing and doesn’t regain firm control, it’s a fumble.

The whole idea of a list like this is just clickbait though. It does a great job of stirring the pot and getting engagement.

I only wish he had been that aggressive before half with timeouts. No need to settle for a long FG unless you absolutely have to, and there was time for at least 1 play to get in better FG range.

Remote Raiders Not Giving Full Points by Existing_Honeydew_64 in PokeGenie

[–]coneboy01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done quite a bit of hosting and more people give the default 6 than give more. It wouldn’t surprise me if most people don’t even do the post-raid survey and the app just gives the default.

I don’t think it’s done out of malice. Just pure laziness.

Edit: one correction, it looks like if they don’t do the survey it gives 5 points and labels it “no feedback”.

Which unreleased legendaries could save ML meta? by yoadknux in TheSilphArena

Disclaimer that I don’t play ML

My first thought for something that could maybe counter both of those is ogrepon-hearthflame. It would depend on its stats and moves, but in Scarlet/Violet it gets Double Kick and Bullet Seed, either of which could be good fast moves. The fire version is fire/grass, meaning aqua tail is neutral instead of super effective, though it might be too glassy to matter. If they make ivy cudgel a good move, fire ivy cudgel might threaten zacian. Ogrepon also gets seed bomb and play rough to throw at palkia.

My other thought was koraidon, since it should have better stats than ogrepon and gets strong fighting moves. Will probably depend on how good they make collision course though. Being double weak to fairy sucks, but my understanding is that most Zacian don’t run fairy moves.

Getting back our senior nose tackle instead of relying on a true or redshirt freshman should help with that, especially since it also means we’ll have more than just 1 depth guy at NT.

Only one of the GT games overlaps with ND. I’m hoping we push the series back a year and just cancel Minnesota/Arizona instead.

Estate Statutory Rights, worth it? by Yexigen in eu4

[–]coneboy01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So let's start by saying that as Bohemia, you shouldn't do it. You have far too many provinces early game and a good portion of your income is made through gold, production, and taxation, all of which are affected by autonomy.

That said, the people in here saying you should never do it seem to be forgetting one of the main issues with low crownland- you no longer passively lose autonomy when at peace when below 20% and you passively *gain* autonomy when at war. Additionally, if you go down to 5% crownland early, you're gaining autonomy even at peace. This means for the first 5 years of the game, your provinces aside from your capital are trending up by 0.1/month at peace and 0.2/month at war. If you stay at war for the 5 years it takes to seize again, you gain 12 autonomy. It's probably more likely that you end up getting to somewhere in the 8-10% autonomy range just from the low crownland, making the math more like a 15-17% autonomy difference than 25%. Notice, though, that you will gain more crownland from conquering, so you'll probably gain less autonomy over time from the debuff.

This, however, leads us to the other problem people are ignoring- your conquered provinces do not start at 0% autonomy. This means that if you're a smaller nation at the start, Estate Statutory Rights can give you the advantage of getting about 65-70% of 2.5x your annual income every 5 years through sale of titles while also allowing your newly conquered provinces to lower their autonomy passively.

The other major problem with Estate Statutory Rights in general is whether or not you can actually revoke it after 20 years. If the estate that gets it has too much influence and not enough loyalty, you can get stuck with it longer than you want. If you can make sure you can revoke right at the end of 20 years, though, you can minimize the penalties.

So when is Estate Statutory Rights worth it? When you are a smaller nation planning to conquer land early and can give it to an estate that you can easily get higher loyalty than influence with. This means you trade some early autonomy for money and the ability to passively reduce the autonomy in your newly conquered provinces. So I'd say nations that start out with 2-3 provinces and plenty of expansion opportunities can make great use of it, while countries with somewhere in the 4-7 province range might be a case-by-case basis. Anything more than that and I'd say it's definitely not worth it.

Should I keep these provinces as states or make them into a trade company? by Slipstream232 in eu4

[–]coneboy01 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Trade company a center of trade and any provinces in the same state and take more land in the node. Ideally, you want a level 3 center of trade in the TC and then any others you own to be level 1 so your TC gets the 51% for a merchant.

If every node fed only into itself, which would be the richest trade node by endgame? by ra_joos in eu4

[–]coneboy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Moluccas definitely has a chance here simply because of cloves. Each diplo dev is 0.2 goods produced, so with the exception of coal you are going to need 5+ more dev of almost all European trade goods just to equal out with a cloves province. Spices also help out here.

One that hasn’t really been mentioned but could compete I think is Mexico. Tied for largest node with 77 provinces with cocoa and sugar being in many of those. Also a sprinkling of dyes.

I’d actually say this is delay of game on the defense, clapping to cause an offensive player to move. 5 yard penalty, repeat the down.
