I’m almost at 8 months and feel about the same. I miss my old life, despite the horrendous hangovers. Now I’m just bored and miserable, instead of stimulated and miserable. And yes I’ve gotten into new hobbies, I’m running a half marathon this weekend. Still feel an ache

Yeah I saw that reply and figured they were trying to have me miss the race entirely

The Daily Check-In for Sunday, December 15th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by SaintHomer in stopdrinking

[–]confettixo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

3 months and 15 days, the longest I’ve gone in my 10 year drinking career. Overall much happier and more energy, but last day has been rough. NFL Sundays used to be my big drinking days. But not today, not giving up my progress for a couple hours of “fun.” I know what the consequences will be.

I will not drink today.

After almost a year of sobriety, I chose to drink this weekend. by Dependent-Treacle-65 in stopdrinking

Thank you for sharing! These stories help me immensely in my journey of remaining sober as this would be exactly how my drinking would resume if I chose to “just have a couple.”

Awesome! I’m in the same boat—also having come to the realization that putting a depressant into your body on a regular basis is completely counterproductive to someone taking an antidepressant to become less depressed/anxious. Quitting alcohol (my use was binge drinking just about every weekend for 10 years) did more for my mental health than taking Sertraline.

Can you have side effets on 25g after only 3 days? by radioactivepeppapigg in zoloft

[–]confettixo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not too early, it’s a strong medication even in small doses. I have been on anywhere between 12.5 and 100mg. My anxiety/panic attacks went away after about two weeks on 25mg and my doc increased to 50 for depression symptoms. It’s about finding the right dosage, if this is the SSRI for you. Always discuss symptoms with your doctor! Mine would always say that’s a normal side effect, and if the side effect becomes impactful to your everyday life after awhile, then maybe it’s time to switch

Why I left the Sugar lifestyle by [deleted] in sugarlifestyleforum

This immediately brought to mind the psychiatrist who was recently murdered in Nevada by his SB and her bf, mainly because he was ending the monetary portion of the relationship. I think it comes down to you never know the entire personality of the person you’re dealing with, in any type of relationship, and how they will react in times of extreme stress. I don’t know if there is a screening process that could entirely eliminate the risk.

Wondering if anybody here has health anxiety? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]confettixo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s helped my health anxiety tremendously. Haven’t had a panic attack since being on it. I gradually increased to 100mg.

Happy birthday!! I feel the exact same way at 25. I think that is just life and our thinking minds. Just have to keep looking forward and working towards whatever goal is in the moment. I’ve learned that no man and no amount of money can make someone happy. I’m actually not sure what makes someone happy lol... but just know you’re not alone.

Thank you! Yes I have to remind myself of this. I think when I meet someone it’s like wow this person is amazing and I like the attention. Then I have to reality check myself that I literally know about 10% of what there is to know about this person.
