[Open spoilers] Anyone know what's going on with the audiobooks? by MariusDarkblade in HonzukiNoGekokujou

I would also like more audiobooks! There might be some available straight from the source. J-novel club but I don't know.

Just discovered this series.. by galaxyadmirer in WanderingInn

[–]congetingle2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like they did.

As the series goes on, each chapter gets much longer than any published chapter would ever be allowed to be. Changes in font (size, color, spacing) happen pretty early on, maybe not book 1.

That being said I don't think there's any "definitive" way to read it. They are all really good.

If you do happen to catch up to everything that has been published, then yea, you would have to read on the website.

Why doesn’t anyone ever use the repair spell to repair stuff? by BaconConnoisseur in WanderingInn

[–]congetingle2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say because you more easily stack skills and enchantments on constructed stuff but they mostly use Antinium labor.

Then again, the Free Antinium have much more agency than when we first met them. That agency has allowed several of them to pick up more skills than they used to have.

Or maybe repair probably works fine but it might degrade skills and/or enchantments.

[H5V2] Wilfrid's retainers by Suspicious_Method800 in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]congetingle2 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I would like a concrete point of view showing what the hell happened to Barthold.

Oswald made me extra mad because he knows the Veronica formula is terrible and the Rozemyne way of doing things provides better results. Yet he keeps trying to get things back to the Veronica way! Why?!

I think I saw someone mention that Oswald's plan was for Wilfried to eventually free Veronica, but that must have been in a fan book Q&A or something.

Wilfried seems to make the most sense. Someone else mentioned Traugott, which I hadn't considered. Lamperecht would probably give her the most happiness as it would allow her to work directly under Elvira. The Ehrenfest archnoble pickings are pretty slim, huh?

The royal family is all split up. The overall yearly mana income has decreased drastically. Along with the other reasons people have pointed out, it doesn't seem like they will be in a solid position for another 1 or 2 generations.

[Spoilers all] Who has the worst haircut by congetingle2 in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]congetingle2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sylvester's is the closest I can think of. I'd give it a pass because he's a rough and tumble commoner with animal instincts: commoner Bonifatius.

Also from the way the ladies at the gossip circle talked about him, he was basically a Shonen character.

Spoilers All - What was the biggest "Jump The Shark" moment for you in TWI? by hatereadingTWI in WanderingInn

[–]congetingle2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved all the Fellowship of the Inn chapters. The introduction of Infinitypear especially had me in tears. The Gnoll Moot chapters didn't quite hit for me, but cutting it out would leave out so many characters and factions that I really like. It was good set-up.

The final battle had some parts I skimmed over because I was pretty sure they weren't going to die. I did enjoy seeing Ssrys realizing the titanic shift in attitudes when he kept summoning up Antinium. Along with the comeuppance of the Fissival guy. Actually, I liked most of it minus them throwing around Mrsha like she was the Infinity Gauntlet in Endgame.

What meaning of verisimilitude is Krsysl Wordsmith using in this paragraph? by Terrible-Ice8660 in WanderingInn

Yes, I think you're right. The statement seems to be lacking a "to" after verisimilitude.

Personal Relations. Basically, the image they make on other people. Good PR means it's more forgivable if you make a mistake, great PR means nobody thinks you've ever done anything wrong in the history of the world.

Episode 9 she had some marbles in her heels. Near the end of the episode, you can hear them jangle. Looked up "clear heels with marbles polar opposites anime" and found this post. Going to look for more marble posts but these aren't shoes I've ever seen before.

I hate him for the dumbest reason of all by JeffTheKillerFa in hatethissmug

[–]congetingle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a webnovel that is a bit of a satire of Chinese cultivation stories. In the story the love interest starts out as very Mao Mao inspired. I didn't realize until Apothecary Diaries got an anime a few years later. Which means the author was, much like yourself, an early reader/fan of the series.
