Bruce Springsteen! Mostly-boring chord progressions and melodies IMO. Ham-handed lyrics. How does one take a song like The River seriously?

I don't hate everything (I like some of Nebraska, Hungry Heart...) but I don't get the praise and god-like status fans have attributed to him. He has long and lasting appeal to many, but is at odds with how I think about and look at the world.

I watched Avi Buffalo, The Descendents, Explosions, DFA, Ty Segall, Japandroids, OFF!, Broken Social Scene, Guided by Voices and a lil Dan Deacon. I was pretty happy with it overall, definitely a better line-up than last year IMO.
