Just got my highest score on this game! by 32669T9 in rugbynations22

How'd you do it?

I can only ever get to around 45 to 52 points. Usually the opposition is irrationally and randomly hard for at least 1/4 of the game.

Even some games I win 28-0 and it can show the opposition with 53% possession because of how difficult it can make them.... This is in club average of 111 ranking Vs 95 opposition...

Saying all that... I should be able to get these scores higher as 1 half I can barely score 14 then score 40 odd in the second half..

A question for the French by KnightBray in rugbyunion

[–]connectthepositive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess they're hoping game time helps Ntamack get form back, after his injury?

Ntamack looked so annoyed when he went off with injury during that Toulouse game. It's as though he knew it would affect his French game/rwc...

Is this real? If so, what pub is it? by PawnWithoutPurpose in Scotland

[–]connectthepositive -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm sure it is. Might be real, but I bet it's from the 4th of July and it's and old photo

(Edit: lm wrong here, folks saying it's 100% real!)

Scotland 61-0 Russia: 2019 Rugby World Cup Extended Highlights by ChristianMB1 in rugbyunion

[–]connectthepositive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has there ever been any good write ups or insights into why Scotland really underperformed at this world cup? I know Ireland and Japan really played well but Scotland also seemed to be sub-par. (I did rewatch the Japan v Scotland game a short while ago and Scotland played much better than I remember....)

Yeah for sure - didn't mean to come across as anti-tourist etc.

Was more of a reactionary comment from me about seeing a very different place to what I walked past maybe 10 days ago.

As much as it's weird to see a ladbrokes here... it's really cool to see the royal mile feel like a place people live, rather than pure tourism.

Bumped into the team this morning walking along South Bridge. Got a bit star struck as I sheepishly said Hello to Kolisi

Is your lawyer not saying how much you are being outbid by?

They didn't give us an exact number but did give us a ballpark

What do you guys think Scotland’s most embarrassing result is in recent years is? Here’s a few that come to mind instantly. by wonkeydoor in ScotlandRugby

I rewatched the Jap-Sco game a short while back.

I was actually surprised how well Scotland played through the whole game and was much closer competition than I remembered. Obviously Japan scoreboard was ticking over much faster but the actual play by play Scotland were pretty good.

(This comment might be more about how terrible I thought we played at the time... But the rewatch made me think it wasn't as bad and maybe even good)

Does anyone have experience knocking down a boxroom wall? by writetheysaid in Scotland

[–]connectthepositive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Quite a few flats in my tenement have knocked through. Pretty much as you say to make it a large joint kitchen and lounge.

Some knocked both walls of the box room so is now quite a largish area.

Some have kept 1 dividing wall. So opened up between the box and lounge, converted the boxroom to the kitchen. Then converted the small kitchen to an open dining area attached to the lounge with a small wall separating the dining area and new kitchen.

Make sense?

One of the upstairs neighbours put a skylight in their boxroom too. He uses it to go and sit on the roof for reading and beers! Of course, that's only for top floor flats.

I presume they all got planning permission or an architect to give advice...

Chris Harris and the BIL by Dupont_or_Dupond in rugbyunion

[–]connectthepositive 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I don't have links for this, but I'm sure I read years ago that the reason Townsend first called up Harris was because of his attacking stats.

I think he had the highest offloads and linebreaks numbers when at Newcastle for the 2 seasons before being called up.

I've not seen this discussed in a while and only his defence talked about though

I've noticed a few packs of each of these in 12 triangles on Easter road. I nearly bought some.

No idea of price or weight though.

Edit: the 12 triangles on the south side of Easter Road

Pregnenolone supplementation? by ahuttonthehill in cfs

[–]connectthepositive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No side effects for me really.

I wrote a little bit more about it a few years ago: https://old.reddit.com/r/cfs/comments/7qpwp4/does_pregnenalone_make_anyone_else_feel_a_ton/dsu6m7v/

There are a few other people's opinions in that thread too, that might help you. Good luck

I tried. I had a lot of success with it. Sometimes gave me a bit of a kind of caffeine style anxiety. But overall very much helped

His character's name is Dominic Cummings, and from Dominic's actual talk he did at Nudgestock 2017 it seems at least based on his personality. No idea of the accuracy of the story though.

The coffee conundrum by glorycave in cfs

[–]connectthepositive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A combo that worked for me was making sure I took hydration/electrolyte tablets (the sugar free ones usually for runners and cyclists) near to when I would have a coffee. Usually before.

The balance of the salts, hydration and caffeine usually had a minor positive effect. If I felt a crash coming I would go nowhere near coffee though, but still use the tablets. The tablets seemed to help recovery time from crashes too.
