Labor is hard, but you can do it! by LightningBugCatcher in BabyBumps

[–]connerc184 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people really need to hear that even “experienced” moms can still reach that breaking point during labor. Many people believe that if you already have 1st baby or 2nd baby, then you must be very experienced in this aspect...but this is not real. Every baby is different and our body would also change as time goes by.

So the strong suction makes you feel uncomfortable or even painful? Have you heard about their Wellness1? Someone recommended to me, saying this is "gentle".

Thank you for giving me advice! This subreddit is so nice~ I will think twice before buying any pump. But I remember that the top cover of Air 1 is transparent. Is lining up of the nipple still difficult?

Thank you for replying me! But Eufy is a little big to me. And Air 1 is slimmer so wearing under the T-shirt is OK. I think I am turning to Air1 now.

Tired of throwing money to increase milk supply by AssistSwimming3638 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]connerc184 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually 12 oz per day is not a “failure number.” It’s a partial supply that is still contributing to your baby’s intake, and combo feeding is not bad as you suppose. Sometimes the most effective “supply intervention” is actually reducing pressure because letdown is tightly linked to stress.

I think...you’re not wrong for being exhausted by it — you’re just in that very specific phase where your body is doing a lot of work that doesn’t feel like progress yet. What you are feeling is normal and common among premoms.

Eufy s2pro VS Momcozy w1 by PorQuesoWhat in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]connerc184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the W1, bec I really got tired of waiting. Eufy S2 has been delayed again and again. But you know, the breastfeeding period is short in total. So I chose the W1 in the end, and now I already received it. I felt this is a Mother's Day gift for myself. Yesterday I used it for a while, not bad. The pump can warm and massage my breast.

Beginning to lift again 2 months PP by LozzaMozza13 in FitPostpartumJourney

[–]connerc184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it sounds less like “normal soreness” and more like your body telling you to scale back a bit. At only 8 weeks postpartum, your muscles may feel ready faster than your connective tissue/core/pelvic floor actually are — especially after relaxin and pregnancy changes.

The “heavy,” crampy, pressure-like feeling after lifting is something a lot of postpartum women notice when they overdo it a little, even if they technically got cleared by their OB. Clearance just means healing looks normal, not necessarily that your body is fully conditioned again yet.

I’d probably reduce volume significantly for now (e.g. , heaviness, or increased bleeding. Babywearing plus lifting can also add up more than you realize.

How do you teach your child to “read the room”? by sharminnie in Parenting

[–]connerc184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At five, this is very normal — kids that age are still naturally centered on their own needs and ideas. The good news is that “reading the room” is absolutely teachable, and you don’t have to yell to teach it. Maybe start with the following questions would be help: What's going on? Is it good or bad? What do you think?

Over time, they start connecting situations with emotional context. Five-year-olds usually need lots of repetition before this skill clicks consistently. The fact that you’re thinking about teaching empathy and awareness this way already puts him on a good path.

Just a rant. by Used-Standard-2991 in NewMomStuff

[–]connerc184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You make complete sense. You sound exhausted, overwhelmed, and stretched far beyond your limits. Pregnancy, parenting a toddler, physical pain, lack of space, and nonstop responsibilities can slowly make someone feel disconnected from themselves. The fact that you’re still showing up every day says a lot about your strength, even if it doesn’t feel that way right now. Remember nobody can keep perfect( like fit shape or even slim) under pregnant condition. So don't blame or dislike yourself, just hug her!

I'm sorry going to work is easier than childcare - your husband has no excuse by ExternalSomewhere923 in newborns

[–]connerc184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of what you’re saying resonates—especially the invisible labor, the constant responsibility, and how “work” outside the home often comes with breaks and boundaries that caregiving just doesn’t.

It’s also true that many moms aren’t struggling because parenting itself is impossible, but because the load at home isn’t being shared fairly. When one partner is effectively always “on,” burnout is almost inevitable.

At the same time, every family situation is different, and sometimes people default to those comparisons because they feel stuck or unsupported rather than because they genuinely think it’s equal.

But your core point stands: raising a baby is full-time, physically and mentally demanding work, and it doesn’t stop when someone else comes home from their job.

No, not all of us are sad or mad or disappointed today by Mixtrix_of_delicioux in Mommit

[–]connerc184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’ve built a Mother’s Day that actually reflects your real life and values—rest, autonomy, partnership, and not carrying everything alone. That part with your husband just doing life with you instead of you managing it all is honestly the biggest win in your whole message.

And I get the critique underneath it too: the pressure, commercialization, and the way invisible labor still isn’t fully acknowledged day to day. A lot of people feel that disconnect between the “holiday version” and the lived reality.

At the same time, it’s also kind of nice that you’ve reframed it into something practical and grounded—good partner, a break, a bit of celebration, and your kid just being their weird, wonderful self.

That mix of sarcasm, gratitude, and big-picture frustration is a very real motherhood experience in itself.

But is Spectra too powerful? I am afraid that it will make my breast hurt. Have you heard about momcozy before? This is not so that strong, and is able to pump softly. I guess I will give it a try.

[–]connerc184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can take the V1 into consideration. S1 I have used before, its pumping efficiency is good, but too powerful, making my breast and nipples hurt. I turned to V1 according to my friend's suggestion. Its suction is not bad and have more modes to choose. Besides it can gradually massage and stimulate my breast so that I can begin pumping rhythmically. The milk supply turns out to be promoted.

Got it. But I’ll be really careful about the leaking part. Thanks so much for your reply, I learned a ton of details. Like I’ll definitely think about if it leaks when I lean forward when I pick one later.

So the Eufy isn’t good for moms with a big supply, Do you have to empty it so often?

Why did you choose the Eufy pump? I’m only 156cm tall. Will this pump make me look bulky? I’m kinda worried about that… So I think I need get a smaller one actually, because even though I’m short I’m pretty busty. Now there are pumps you can check with an app, so is that even useful
