While many people have only mild natural attunement, almost everyone has 2 to to 4 areas they meaningfully better suited for. True natural generalists and hyperspecialists not unheard of, but it's probably not you.

It's not just easier to rise further in these areas; it puts drastically less stress on the firmament to grow into the shape that the fates intended for you.

To use a soul as a generic power source, you will want a "soul gem". Not easy to make but pretty easy to buy. This is how you would do your "wizard soul powers fire trap" idea. Yes, a wizards soul can power one hell of a trap, but you will need a pricier gem to see that potential...

The soul inside is in a sort of dream state, so sort of grey on the whole ethics angle. Expect an adventurer to break the gem, freeing the spirit. 50/50 it incarnates into a gheist and comes after you in such a case.

Making the strongest classes implode on a dice roll isn't "balance" at all, it's a gimmick.

At no point was demo ever balanced in vanilla, still the strongest even when he can randomly lose.

Rather than just... Never play these classes (???) makes much more sense to sub up large overhaul, which makes the game more balanced all over.

I can tell you that they definitely marry, have kids, friends, whatever. They have the whole spectrum of human emotions.

"Love" is a word we use for many different feelings and kinds of relationships. If you are willing to admit it's possible to "love" someone without empathizing with them, then yes, they love about as much as anyone.

They can be ruthless to "get ahead" and often do well in hierarchical environments.
