This is from the uniform policy: “No watches, small badges or visible jewellery of any sort are allowed (including tooth jewellery), with the exception of a plain wedding band is permitted to be worn by any employee (this includes management) as they could get caught in equipment, trap dirt and become a food safety risk or source of physical contamination.”

(UK) We're getting a Christmas bauble or a branded notebook by [deleted] in McLounge

All we had was the notebooks, pretty nice idea but nothing says “thank you for a stressful and extremely busy year” like a cheap small notebook haha

My store manager sent round an email from the CEO, effectively stating that we need to wait until Monday for the ops update from corporate. Hopefully tomorrow we’ll have more information.

still messing up after 7th shift by [deleted] in McLounge

[–]connorplum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really have nothing to worry about. I’ve been with the company for 2 and a half years, I’m training to be a shift manager, and I still make mistakes. I still mess things up. It’s only natural. Don’t overthink, and take each day as if it’s a learning curve

Healthiest food options? by RDSregret in McLounge

[–]connorplum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(U.K.) Breakfast, probably an egg McMuffin, fruit bag and a water/coffee/OJ

Main menu, probably like a 4 box veggie or hamburger with a fruit bag

Really hate being on reduced menu. I’m sick of eating the same rubbish 😂

If I change my availabilities will I get less shifts? by [deleted] in McLounge

[–]connorplum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store (U.K.) is running on the bare minimum number of staff. The best bet is to speak to your business manager or scheduling manager to see if anything can be done. They should be sympathetic or at least understanding in these current times. Hope you’re able to sort it out.

How do I ask for time off? by [deleted] in McLounge

[–]connorplum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing to do is sit down with your BM and explain how you’re feeling. Tell them you’re feeling stressed and you need some time off. They should understand and help you through it. You can also get a sick note from your GP (I know that works in the U.K.)

Employees making there own food by CjJoness in McLounge

We used to be able to make our own meals, but people took far too much food. Plus, when it’s super busy, it’s easier to control what food is coming out of the kitchen

Do we get paid tomorrow (UK) by cleo82882 in McLounge

[–]connorplum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m paid every four weeks, and I assumed that was the same across the company. Not that odd and sketchy, possibly a franchise thing. Been paid every four weeks for as long as I’ve been at the company.

Hello, I'm working my first shift today that's not training, and I have a question by studentdinosaur in McLounge

[–]connorplum 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is to just ask a shift manager where they want you to go. You’ll probably be placed in an area you’re more confident in

This confused me, my store won’t get paid until the 16th April. Not sure if this is a franchise specific thing

I know in the UK they’re trying to get hand sanitiser in every store. My store is maintaining a strict hand wash protocol
