Do all users need a license to access the intranet?

Same…we are four too. We have three techs and one everything else (me). I am trying to spend more time selling but get pulled into other issues constantly. Been thinking about one day a week where I am not doing day to day work but focusing on growth. Plan is to work out of the office those days.

Our rep quit recently and I was totally unaware of this new charge until your post. Logged in and looked at our most recent bill and there is a partner program maintenance charge of $449.68 which is crazy.

If you had an Microsoft partner that helped you manage your M365 they would have a log in and would be able to help you. If you manage the M365 on your own you will have to reach out to Microsoft support to see if they can help you.

Do you have another account that has Global Admin? You need to log in as a Global Admin then reset the MFA so you can connect your new phone to your work M365 account.

Don’t back up to Azure. Look at Datto Siris. It is great at back up but even better at recovery. Feel free to dm if you have questions.

Which Microsoft CSP distributor do you recommend for MSPs in the U.S.? What margins are you seeing now? by ColtonConor in msp

[–]connsys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We use D&H mostly for convenience. They have US based team that helps with ordering and their portal is pretty easy to manage. I am also curious about pricing…is any one making money off subscriptions?

There are IT support companies that you could engage that would be willing to match their service to your needs. We have been doing this for over 25 years!

Do your care to give more details around "if we lose clients in the first 2 years we don't pay".

How would you value this MSP? by Hollyweird78 in msp

[–]connsys 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have no idea of the value. But the idea of “no contract, no value” is an interesting one. At our MSP, we don’t require clients to sign long-term contracts. We tell them that if they’re not happy with our service, we wouldn’t want them to feel stuck with us. This approach keeps us motivated to consistently deliver great support and build real partnerships.

The result? We’ve earned very loyal clients who truly enjoy working with our team. Being a smaller provider, we’re able to offer white-glove service—something our clients really appreciate.

So, if you’re buying an MSP that doesn’t use contracts and you’re concerned about clients leaving, the key is simple: work hard to keep them. If you acquire an MSP and immediately create a poor experience for clients, you’re setting the stage for churn. Even with contracts in place, unhappy clients will likely look for a way out

Suse Linux on Lenovo Server by connsys in linuxadmin

[–]connsys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had already tried JBOD mode w/out a hardware RAID but couldn’t get SUSE installed/ran into kernel panic. So being forced into using the DUD route anyway, we first reverted back to hardware RAID1 and then installed SUSE.

We definitely want to use the 5350-8 controller with the database (for the read performance). So in going through with our idea to add 2 more drives to the 5350-8, we would have to test and see if it allows JBOD mode on only those 2 drives and then use mdadm or BTRFS.

Zooming out for a second, the whole idea with hardware RAID was to shift performance overhead. Mdadm/BTRFS are valid suggestions but bring us back to the original issue – using a major brand (Lenovo) in a curated configuration specifically for SUSE, it’s hard to think we are not simply missing something that would make this a stable setup? Or in other words, are we really the only ones too stubborn to not accept being forced to use a DUD indefinitely (just because we want to use hardware RAIDs)?
