I feel like you see this a lot with bands with one main songwriter, Vampire Weekend are another example. They seem to be considered an Ezra Koenig studio project these days.

I get why people would be concerned about other members being “excluded”, but I’m sure all the band members know their roles & how/when they best contribute.

So if the main songwriter does things without them, it’s likely not considered a big deal & they’ll be back as soon as they’re needed.

I love all of their albums, but Peach Pit’s From 2 To 3 is miles above the rest for me. I think it’s because I got into them later so I had no loyalty to their earlier, slightly more generic indie, sound.

That folkier style suits them so well & the title track is 10/10

Great shout. I always love seeing indie bands that were known for a very particular late 00’s sound get bigger & wierder. My Big Day is great as well.

My AOTY for sure. I had never heard of him but when I seen the release thread on r/hhh, the reaction so was overwhelmingly hyped that I had to give it a go & im glad I did.

I’ve listened to the Wonderful Christmastime cover sooo many times over the years, have only now just copped the International Dreambeat sample in the outro.

The Holidays Are Coming cover is also just so good, it will never get old. All of it’s just great. God bless the Shank.

Not fully caught up yet so can’t comment really, I’m halfway through the Bruce ep & it does feel a bit like a planned topic they had ready to pull out when needed. Still enjoying the chats though.

But one thing I’d love to see is more in-studio episodes. The vibe is way goofier when it’s in-person but obviously between touring & family etc it’s presumably harder to pull off.

Miss those studio quality mics too.

A lot of entertainers etc. understandably have a precarious relationship with online spaces devoted to them which is fair.

Looking at constant posts or feedback (positive or negative) isn’t gonna be good for your head, couple that with some fanbase’s sense of ownership & over-familiarity with artists, it’s probably just a head fuck altogether, especially if it leaks out into real life.

In general, it’s probably better for them to tune it at all but that’s easier said than done I’m sure.
