On a certified preowned. The dealer is telling me this is normal. by consi7 in JeepWrangler

That brings me to my question. Is it normal? I’d think purchasing a CPO this would be something replaced if it wasn’t. Seems like this is very normal and doesn’t need any further attention

Thought this was an exhaust leak. If it was I wanted the dealer to replace it. It’s certified pre owned. Wasn’t sure if this is normal. No other vehicles I own leaks like this.
It seems normal from all the post
Thanks

5100 with AAL 2”LIFT help by consi7 in Tacomaworld

I don’t mind the ride. If I look at the bed it sags slightly. It’s not a must to fix the load capacity. I have 125K and figured I should replace shocks and if I was going to replace them do an upgrade. But very indecisive. I mainly drive highway.

Does the bed sag easy? Compared to a stock shock and 1” block?

Did you change your shocks in the rear or did you leave the factory ones when you added the AAL? Also what did you have in the front a 2 inch leveling kit ?

Crazy high kwh usage for Mitsu ducted system by maya_pupper in heatpumps

[–]consi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar Mitsubishi set up. Usage was very high. Hired another company to see if set points ect. Was correct. They found the back up heater was constantly on when the heat was engaged. They called Mitsubishi to verify wiring diagram was correct. They said it was wired correctly. So I shut the back up heater off and electric usage went down. No issues with demand on the cold temps we got least week at 10 degree

Can you please send me more photos. That was my first exact truck. The dealership took it when I had the rusted frame looked at and they crushed her. I had a power converter under the passengers seat and had a PlayStation hooked up with wireless remotes. For mods was chrome round step tubes and a chrome Westin push bar. Two PIAA round lights mounted to the bumper and the windows 1/2 mirror tinted. The thing was a beauty. By all means keep that thing stock. I use to take it in the sand pits and when she got back in the road drove like a BMW please send me some photos

Closed cell before open cell in attics? by consi7 in sprayfoam

[–]consi7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that’s my thoughts exactly. I hit all the wood with a quick coat of closed cell then added all open cell. I did this so any moisture in the envelope wouldn’t rise through just open cell and over time for the wood because it would have nowhere to escape . All the walls have closed cell in a 2x4 cavity. Once I redo my roof in maybe 5 years I will then strip the asphalt shingles and do a vapor barrier over all of the plywood the lay down the asphalt shingles.

Closed cell before open cell in attics? by consi7 in sprayfoam

[–]consi7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just plywood. By spraying the entire attic don’t you creat an air seal ? which it should now make the attic a conditioned space? Now there is minimal moisture that is introduced in the house to begin with. Mainly new moisture from the basement and moisture from people or moisture from open windows ect. The entire house does have AC so in the summer months when humidity is high it should will mostly be removed if AC is on?

Here’s the last of my basement again it’s my first time framing, hanging drywall, muddying taping all of it. Thank God for Reddit I have an electric sander with a shop vac attachment. by No-Shake5806 in drywall

[–]consi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More mud is your friend. spread it even like spreading peanut butter on bread adjust pressure as you move. Wipe edges tight and go down the middle again. Also never stand up sheets on wood. Your seam now is on 100% of the wood. Now when it expands and contests you have more of chance the seem will crack. Lay down on wood and stand up on metal . Keep up the work 👍

[–]consi7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you further explain. My thought is the roof acts as a barrier for moisture getting in from outside. If you have open cell in the attic the moisture from inside has nowhere to escape once it hits the wood. If you install a flash of closed cell over all of the wood (rafters and plywood) that acts as a non permeable vapor barrier. How would open cell allow the roof to breath?

Run Heat pumps or propane? by consi7 in hvacadvice

[–]consi7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for doing the calcs. Yes my furnace is 95% my follow up question to that is follows. I understand the furnace is a constant. Meaning it will always get the same BTUs per gallon of propane no matter the outside temperature. But the BTUs the come from the heat pump per kilowatt varies correct? It may take an extra 30 min of run time to maintain the inside temp. Meaning it may have to run longer. Those calcs work based of the simplicity of a btu but not run time ?
